'Gigantic omission': Former Flint mayor says of engineering firm report that didn't mention lead

FLINT, MIOfficials with one of the engineering firms advising Flint on its water during the water crisis told members of the public as well as former Flint Mayor Dayne Walling that the discolored water flowing from faucets across the city became that way because of ironnot leadin the water.
Other than poor aesthetics with the water, which was being drawn from the Flint River and distributed to residents to drink and bathe in, it was safe, the officials with Veolia North America said in a February 2015 meeting with residents, according to testimony provided by former city of Flint Mayor Dayne Walling in U.S. District Court Wednesday, March 30.
But according to a set of emails admitted as evidence during the course of court proceedings Wednesday, the Veolia officials were aware that issues with the citys water supply went beyond discoloration and potentially foul odors.
They were aware, according to the February 2015 emails displayed in court, that lead seems to be a problem.
