Rand Paul cuts deal on Russia trade bill

Source: The Hill

Senators have cut a deal with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) aimed at breaking the logjam over legislation to limit trade with Russia.

The agreement - confirmed by Paul and Sen. John Thune (S.D.), the No. 2 Senate Republican - would clarify what qualifies as a violation of human rights under a U.S. law named after Sergei Magnitsky, a Ukrainian-born Russia who died in police custody more than a decade ago in Moscow.

Senators are using the bill House-passed bill ending normal trade relations with Russia to reauthorize the Magnitsky Act sanctions.

"They will include specific language defining what human rights abuses are and that we don't have the problem of having language that can be misinterpreted," Paul said, asked by The Hill they had worked out a deal on the sanctions language.

And the R stands for Russia. Putin's man in Washington. Well, one of Putin's people in Washington. He has many on the payroll.

You gonna say the same thing about MS or AL or LA? Want to know why people in these states, if they bother to vote, don't vote the other way? Because the other way sucks down a Starbucks and calls them backwards. I live in red country and I mean really small poor town country. Remarks and attitudes like that make it impossible for those of us out here to try and change minds.

In order to win their minds, you would have to feed their religious and anarchistic tendencies and throw in a little racism. Those are the qualities that moved them to the red party. Common sense, even economically evades them. You could give some a million dollars, let them know democrats got it for them and they will still vote for morons that will take it all back - and more.
