President Biden called Murdoch the 'most dangerous man in the world,' new book alleges

Source: CNN

In a forthcoming book, a pair of New York Times reporters and CNN political analysts report that President Joe Biden "assessed" Fox News "as one of the most destructive forces in the United States." The reporters, Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns, say that Biden was even more critical of Fox Corp patriarch Rupert Murdoch. According to the book, Biden told an unnamed associate in mid-2021 that Murdoch was "the most dangerous man in the world."

The description comes many chapters into "This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's Future," which comes out in May.

The book describes Fox as a "torrent of anti-Biden programming, stoking skepticism about vaccines and disseminating wild conspiracy theories about the January 6 attack." Many Biden allies have denounced Fox for those reasons and have blamed Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan, the company's CEO, for enabling hosts like Tucker Carlson. But Biden has never spoken about either Murdoch in public, according to the Factba.se database of the president's speeches, interviews, tweets and other public statements. So the comment in "This Will Not Pass" may make waves.

and dems and the country would a shitload better off.

fox is part of the free speech spectrum - there are free easy alts a click away
fox cannot be coordinated at the local and state level like rw radio
fox needed about 9 years of unchallenged limbaugh and sons to make it acceptable
fox's audience is smaller
they can't get anywhere near as racist or bigoted or lie or repeat as much
they have to pretend to be 'fair and balanced'
when the fox blockheads and blond perms look into the camera and lie and bullshit they know that it has been or will soon be backed up by 1500 coordinated radio stations......

To better reflect their allegiance and objectives, it should be renamed The Joseph Goebbels Memorial Network.

Rupert Murdoch knew many years ago that their is a certain segment of society that is vulnerable and gullible enough to believe most anything that aligns with their mindset. It gives them satisfaction that they get to see someone on TV reaffirm what they've already been thinking. Day in and day out, the same subtle innuendos, the same anger and fear of anything deemed 'out of the norm.'

It's been said that conservatives loathe change. Sometimes they make it obvious. Technological change is relatively easy because there's an added convenience factor. Newer car, better car. Newer phone, better phone, etc. But, conservatives really have a serious problem with changing their mindset and worldview of people. And they sure get a shit-ton of reinforcement in that in that aspect of life from the likes of the Rupert Murdoch's of the world. Brown people are coming from the south and stealing your jobs. Well, that's how Focksnooze and other conservative outlets spins it. How does one steal a job? You either get hired or you don't. And who's hiring them? Usually rich white conservatives that hate paying anyone a livable wage and on top of that, hates paying taxes of any kind. In this case, payroll taxes. So they hire them during the day and whine with their buddies during the night about them being here. Hypocrisy is a conservative trait. The mastery of talking out of both sides of their mouths at the same time. And the sell it and other stories like it every day fomenting anger and fear. Year after year. Asians are responsible for Covid, even though said Asians have lived here for generations. Black Americans are basically accused of and blamed for everything.

So, it's easy for conservatives to believe Rupert Murdoch's shit because they're mentally lazy and especially averse to change. They want a nice, all lily-white society with them at the top in perpetuity. LGBTQ people, different ethnicities, the disabled and women should all know their place and stop being such disruptive forces to the conservative mindset. I hate (not really) to inform them but, they're wrong. It doesn't matter what station you were born to in life, or what color your skin is, or what language you speak. It doesn't matter if you're short, tall, fat, thin, well-off or not, there are only two kinds of people in this world; those that are assholes and those that are NOT assholes. And right now, conservatives are about the biggest assholes they've ever been.

Everyone deserves to have at least a fair shake at having a decent life. It's the only one you'll ever have on this planet. The ultimate shitty thing about that simple endeavor is that Rupert Murdoch makes entirely too damn much money making sure that never happens. Peddling anger and fear and keeping people miserable and down is quite profitable, it seems. And right now in this country it's profits over people more now than ever before.

I posted this video last week and it's well worth the time to watch and summarizes how globally trillions of our hard-earned money is taken in profits and used to stab us in the back every day.

One could see Murdoch and News Corp. as their media arm:

Anne Applebaum: Autocracies Don’t Believe In Rules or Norms | Amanpour and Company
Apr 1, 2022

Anne Applebaum is a staff writer for The Atlantic and a Pulitzer Prize-winning historian. Her latest article, "There Is No Liberal World Order," argues that unless democracies defend themselves together, the forces of autocracy will destroy them. She joins Michel Martin to discuss this existential struggle.

Well worth watching. One of the best, most factual and truthful reviews of the biggest global political challenge we've ever seen including wars because with this enemy, we're suffering from a long-standing slow-growing deadly global cancer.

As she says, this is a mostly invisible foe whereas in war, you at least know and can see the enemy. This foe also does not give a tinker's damn about the future of our planet.

Of their US citizenship. Murdoch only got US citizenship so he could create a media/news empire here as it is illegal for foreigner nationals to own TV stations in the US (or at least it was back then).

On 4 September 1985, Murdoch became a naturalized citizen to satisfy the legal requirement that only US citizens were permitted to own US television stations.

The asshole doesn’t even live in the US now that he’s successfully torn it apart: He stays in London where he can’t be protested by those of us who know he lies and doesn’t have to see the “riffraff” (read: Suckers) he lies to on a daily basis.
