Slovakia sent its S-300 air defence system to Ukraine.

Source: The Slovakian Spectator

Slovakia has sent its S-300 missile defence system to Ukraine.

The secret transfer allegedly took two days, as the private broadcaster TV Markza, which broke the news, reported on its website.

Even though the Defence Ministry has not confirmed the information yet, PM Eduard Heger (OĽaNO), who is currently on his way to Kyiv, has affirmed it.

"It's a responsible decision with which Slovakia, as a country supportive of peace, freedom and human rights protection, provides help in the form of defence system to Ukraine and its innocent citizens, while we hope this system can help save from further aggression of the Putin regime as many innocent Ukrainians as possible," he wrote on Facebook.

Russia, hardly needs reconnaissance or spy’s to figure out how to combat Ukraine’s defensive weapons.

The S-300 series were developed in the Soviet Union. The Russians know all about it - and warned Slovakia not to send them to Ukraine. The S-300s are very effective, and Ukraine already had some of their own.

Well S-300's from Slovakia...NATO.
Tanks from the Czechs...NATO.
Armored personnel carriers and NLAW's from the UK...NATO
Killer drones from Turkey..NATO
Stinger AA missiles and javelins MANPADS from the US...NATO.
Did I miss anyone?
I think NATO is involved so send the f**ken MIG-29's and SU-27's already
If this goes the route of a "conventional" WW2 type of fight, Air Superiority is the key. YMMV

But Putler like IQ4.5 never plays fair, time to take his war inside Russia. He sent his best military units
to UKR and lost most of them. His army is at it's weakest point ever, let's take advantage of that fact.

With our air superiority we could take out his AIR FARCE/air fields in short order, then go after the oil & gas,
electric, & water infrastructure. Send all submarines to encircle the Russian navy now, if we haven't done
so already. Start sending all our fighter jets/bombers to NATO bases now.

Make Putler aware of that can of worms he opened up, he "might" back down if he sees a huge Army
building up on his western border.

only continue. If Putin is indeed sick, he may well be hell bent to restore the Soviet Union, which would involve NATO at that point. Time will tell, but in the meantime Ukraine will be destroyed, possibly completely.

They have a lot of shoulder fired and short range missiles, but the s300s can hit heavy bombers miles up.

That should keep those away, or at least very cautious.

Something must be keeping the carpet bombers away anyway.

Ukraine had around 100 active batteries of S-300 long-range air-defense systems with as many as 300 launchers when Russia widened its war in the country starting the night of Feb. 23.

Seven weeks later, the Russians have knocked out at least 21 of the S-300 launchers that outside analysts have confirmed with photos or videos. Even if the actual total of destroyed launchers is higher—and it almost certainly is—it’s not hard to understand why the Russian air force still is losing a startling number of aircraft.

That said, the day probably is coming when Ukraine runs out of its longest-range surface-to-air weapons.

The Ukrainian army, air force and navy inherited a lot of air-defense equipment when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. These included six brigades and four regiments of S-300s that cascaded to the Ukrainian air force, plus additional S-300s that the army took over.

An S-300 launcher can lob a two-ton, proximity-fuse missile as far as 125 miles, depending on the model.

There are x number of countries supporting and supplying Ukraine. There are x number of countries backing russia. As in WWI and WWII, the U.S. is sitting on the sidelines, and may at some point, if the isolationists and putin sympathizers/traitors lose their influence, enter with more suport and more supplies, nuclear options be damned. Also thinking about the Spanish Civil War, when American mercenaries fought for the Republican (and liveral) government in charge AGAINST nazies and fascists.

Now, we are watching from the bench, and hoping that the less powerful countries which are united against russia, will prevail and save democracy, the concept of democracy in the world.

Not only for reasons you point out, but also NATO has to wake up and understand that this is Putin's war against the West, not just Ukriane. However much he can get away with this time, will determine how far he can go the next. coughCrimeacough.

I find NATO's excuses pathetic. Putin has already "escalated" this. How much more can it escalate if NATO provides air support? Especially if they only provide the planes and Ukraine pilots use them. In fact...IMO the war would end much sooner.

With Russian forces being depleted and worn out, how exactly is Russia going to mount a planetary attack against most of the countries of the world? Even IF China helps them. Which I just can't see, as China knows what side their rice is seasoned. How much richer and how much bigger a market they'd be giving up if they sided with an increasingly isolated Russia.

There is always the threat of nuclear annihilation. But that has always been, since the 50's. We simply cannot allow such a butcher to use that threat as a free pass to kill children.

I feel like they are playing both sides, which I think they do. I agree that russia has weakened itself, and wouldn't doubt that putin will escalate to biochemical or other banned weapons. I saw that smash and burn is the s.o.p when russia wants to crush a country into submission. putin did it in Republic of Chechen and if he is allowed to keep up his murderous plans, he'll do it whereever he can get away with it.

I can't help wondering why black ops are so exclusive in their covert actions?
