EC chief: Russian aggression is threat to Europe's security

NEW DELHI (AP) Russias aggression in Ukraine is a direct threat to Europes security, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said during a visit to India on Monday.
Targeting and killing innocent civilians. Redrawing borders by force. Subjugating the will of a free people. This goes against core principles enshrined in the U.N. Charter. In Europe, we see Russias aggression as a direct threat to our security, von der Leyen said in a speech to the Raisina Dialogue, a geopolitics conference in New Delhi.
She said Moscows unprovoked and unjustified aggression against Ukraine was bound to be a strategic failure and the European Union was doing all we can to help Ukraine fight for its freedom.
This is why we needed to impose massive, sharp and effective sanctions, von der Leyen said.

(14,175 posts)The question is....will it be too late by the time NATO wakes up.
Its ridiculous for NATO continue to regard this invasion as a localized event, and hang back and be satisfied with donor countries privately sending in just enough smaller munitions to keep the war dragging on for more months of Putin's genocide.
Or keep using the excuse of preventing an "escalation". When it should be clear by now that this invasion is not just an attack on Ukraine, but all of Europe, including NATO countries. Its already escalated.
My prediction, which I hope I'm wrong about, is that NATO will sit on its hands until Putin overtakes south Ukraine, and is starting their push back into Kiev. Even then they may remain stubbornly passive until all of Ukraine is under Putin's control with information coming out about Putin's plans for the Baltics and Poland and the next Special Operation.
THEN NATO will finally decide to start to act. When the job will be 100 x harder. With a Putin Puppet in charge, and forcing or paying sympathetic Ukrainians to protest in support of him for the cameras. If NATO waits until then, the optics will be much more difficult to overcome. Putin will have footage of Ukrainians supporting his puppet, and maybe next footage of NATO bombing the "patriots" who don't want Nazi's back.
