Arrest warrant issued in Alabama for missing jail official

FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) Authorities issued an arrest warrant Monday for a corrections official who they say helped an inmate arrested on a murder charge escape from an Alabama jail even as they searched for the pair.
The inmate, Casey Cole White, 38, disappeared Friday after he left the Lauderdale County Detention Center in Florence, Alabama, on Friday morning with Vicky White, the facilitys assistant director of corrections. They have not been seen since.
Vicky White told co-workers she was taking the inmate to the courthouse for a mental health evaluation. But Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton later said no such evaluation was scheduled.
Casey White, as youve heard me say over and over and over is an extremely dangerous person and we need to get him located and get him off the street, Singleton said Monday at a press conference.

"Vicky White had planned to retire and that Friday was to be her last day."

He'll have to keep her alive for a while, at 6'9" he's not going to blend in outside the NBA.
And no, it doesn't matter if she was a willing accomplice.

(40,216 posts)It was a true story, maybe in the 1980s, about a defense attorney who helped her inmate lover escape. They were captured within a short time. She was imprisoned and of course lost her law license.

(26,094 posts)I am betting. Just like the two inmates Tilly Mitchell helped escape at Dannemora were planning to gang rape her then kill her. The smartest thing that stupid AF woman ever did was decide to not pick them up in her car.

(15,223 posts)The inmate is 38. Ms. White is 56.
I hope she is still alive but I doubt she is. Its sad that someone can be conned that easily.

(1,454 posts)Until there is hard evidence about her involvement, let's not condemn her. We have no idea if she was threatened or coerced. It wouldn't be the first time this has happened.
Let's wait until the FACTS are all in.

The odds of this being anything different are slim to none

(302 posts)This has happened before and it never ends well. It is almost a cliche. The thing is, someone who is 6'9" really stands out in a crowd. I'm 6' nothing but on the rare occasion I encounter someone that tall it makes me realize how short people must feel as I imagine what it would be like if 90% of people were 6'9" tall. Unless he does a lot of walking hunched over he will be noticed.

According to an announcement today from the Lauderdale County Sheriffs Office, investigators have confirmed through inmates in the Lauderdale County Detention Center that there was a special relationship between the two.
That relationship has been confirmed through our investigation with independent sources and means, the department said in a statement.
