Sixty Feared Dead in Ukraine School Bombed by Russia, Governor Says

Source: Reuters

ZAPORIZHZHIA, Ukraine (Reuters) -As many as 60 people were feared to have been killed in the Russian bombing of a village school in the eastern Ukrainian region of Luhansk, the regional governor said on Sunday.

Governor Serhiy Gaidai said Russian forces dropped a bomb on Saturday afternoon on the school in Bilohorivka where about 90 people were sheltering, causing a fire that engulfed the building for four hours.

"Thirty people were evacuated from the rubble, seven of whom were injured. Sixty people were likely to have died under the rubble of buildings," Gaidai wrote on the Telegram messaging app, adding that two dead bodies had been found.

will ever be pro Russia again.

I saw an interview just last night with a man who said from now on, he's speaking only Ukrainian. He said he was ashamed of ever speaking Russian. Putin really thinks he can occupy this country.

4. Their strategy really makes zero sense.

The area Russia is invading is the part of the country they've said they want to "save" from the Ukrainian "Nazis". It's heavily Russian-speaking. It voted for Yanukovich - from Kharkiv to Odesa. Russian propaganda has been yelling about "facts of oppression" against this population.

So the plan is to drive the ethnic-Russian population in to exile, indiscriminately kill the civilians who remain, make blood enemies of the survivors, and level the cities and infrastructure?

I saw a comment the other day saying that Russia is a "land collector". Putin wants the territory; doesn't care if it has people in it. Even when those people are ethnic Russians.

6. Oh, it makes perfect sense in the same way Hitler's ideas did

Hitler annexed Austria and the Sudetenland and invaded Poland to "liberate" he Germas living toward their western border and to the north. You see, it made perfect sense to unite Germans because they had a higher purpose.

The smae horseshit is at work with Putin, only it's pan Slavism instead of pan Germanism. He's doing exactly the same sort of thing for the same sort of reason that Hitler did and because "Nazi" is the worst slur in that country, that's what he calls anyone who doesn't immediately knuckle under. Gotta be Nazis left over from the last war, bad genes, bad ideology, they just never die.

He needs to be stopped for many of the same reasons Hitler did, they're very much alike, I'm afraid. I hope the Russians stop him, I don't want to see an agonizingly slow war of attrition in Ukraine.

a victory for his May 9th speech. So he murders innocent people huddled in a school basement. I'm sure he will refer to them as nazis in his speech.

I hate Putin more with each passing day. He cannot be human. What a sick fuck.

8. Russia could have eventually wooed these countries into a sort of union, with love.

May 2022

It is strange that Russia is blind in the way that abusive husbands are blind, not realizing that physical attacks destroy the possibility of any real sort of union. It reminds me of that old story in grade school. Two men are walking, and the Sun and the Wind are trading challenges to each other's power. The Wind says, "Oh, yeah? Well, I am so strong that I can blow the coats off those men below!" The Sun says, "Hmm, I challenge you to a contest here. Let's just see who can get those coats off those men. You go first." So the Wind blows and blows and blows, and then grabs some cold from above and blows and blows and blows, but the men only clutch their coats more tightly around them. When the Wind is exhausted, the Sun smiles and says, "Had enough? Now watch me get their coats off them." So the Sun gently and gradually warms the air and the earth and the water nearby, and the men gradually loosen their hold on their coats and undo their buttons and pull their arms out of their sleeves, and then the men remove their coats. And they look up at the Sun and smile happily. Because the Sun knows how to make people WANT to take their coats off, by patiently giving them what they need and winning their gratitude.
Of course, Russia is not the only country to have made this colossal error.

Heck, the majority of russian Russians have been emotionally damaged through boundary busting, gaslighting, misinformation, a lot of which began much before with financial collusion of government and industry, corruptibility, possibly even through their variant organized church, mobster-like stalking surveillance, outright theft, fraud, and blackmail.

Putin prevailed in Chechnya by basically killing everyone in sight and razing cities to rubble.

He figured that since he "won" in Chechnya with that strategy, he should not deviate from it in his Ukrainian campaign.

when the Russian people rise up to gain their freedom. After that point, Russia still will have a long way to go to redeem itself for the evil deeds of Putin's dictatorship.
