Biden targets GOP on inflation as prices skyrocket

Source: Axios

President Biden is preparing a major speech Tuesday to address inflation, and will contrast his plans to lower costs for American families with those offered by congressional Republicans, an administration official told Axios.

Why it matters: For a president who once insisted inflation was "transitory," Biden is now talking about rising prices at nearly every opportunity. The focus comes as Americans buckle under gas exceeding $6 per gallon in some states, and grocery price increases each visit to the store.

At the White House on Tuesday, Biden will focus on GOP plans, like those from Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), which Democrats say will raise taxes on some 75 million Americans, and could sunset entitlement programs like Medicare and Medicaid.

Despite an economy that created 428,000 new jobs last month, officials know inflation is diluting Americans' purchasing power — and can crush Democrats at the polls in the midterm elections.

But I sure hope his plan is centered around pushing for price controls, actual government regulation, instead of taking taxpayers money and giving to oil companies via some strange scheme branded as economic assistance checks or cards or some-such.

Giving taxpayers their own money back to pay high prices only encourages oil companies to raise prices further.

Its an old 2002 and gets about 22 mpg around town.

That was last week at $5.87 a gallon for just a bit under 11 gallons. Its over $6.09 a gallon now, barely a week later!

That's a lot of bucks to fill up and old car that isn't driven much!

That clip needs to be shown on every major network at least as often as that scam ad about Medicare Advantage.

Those suckers used to be worth a penny a piece back in the day. As soon as they start the money for redemption schemes up again, I'm gonna be rich. You will all be invited to my (soon to be) beach house for a weekend bbq blast.

So be nice to me, if you know what I mean.
