(111,292 posts)If the residue confirms she shot herself and he didn't shoot her, I'm really surprised she had the gun.
But yeah, I can just hear him filling her full of happy horseshit about how they'd never take him alive, be there soon, babe.

Edited to add that she had stated her desire to retire, but paperwork was never finalized.

(19,565 posts)Ah, so sad, but I'm not surprised here. She played a stupid game and knew she was screwing up, badly.
I can't imagine her mindset going into this, but this end doesn't surprise me. She had to know it was a finite end. 4.5 seconds before it blew up on her. Which it did.

Predictably bad ending to a bad decision with a bad person.
My heart goes out to the family.

(646 posts)She was a supervisor at the jail. She knew exactly
what she was doing. She threw her life away.
I assumed he would have killed her.
I'm glad he didn't. But I'm sorry she died.
I'm assuming the embarrassment and shame was too much.
I feel bad for her family that have to deal with losing her this way.
I lost my husband unexpectedly last August.
You go through it, for sure. Harder than most understand.
But a prison break???
