Elon Musk says he would reverse Twitter ban on Donald Trump
Source: Washington Post
SAN FRANCISCO Elon Musk said he would reverse Twitters ban on former president Donald Trump.
Musk, the Tesla CEO who is soon to own Twitter, said it was a mistake for the website to ban the former president.
I think it was a morally bad decision to be clear and foolish in the extreme, he said at a Future of the Car event hosted by the Financial Times.
He added: "I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump. I think that was a mistake
It alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice.

We will all become virtual twitter users because it will re-plastered everywhere. That's what musk wants. He wants to be the all-powerful conduit trump relies on to foment the next insurrection.

(10,027 posts)Theyll go back to breathlessly reporting Trumps every insane tweet. Our media already does a poor job, as in most people know nothing about the things the Biden administration has a accomplished and how the infrastructure package has already made improvements or how farmers are better off under the Biden administration. The effects and coat of climate warming are rarely reported. I must be old because I miss the days of media doing its job. The media reports from Vietnam helped to end that war because they showed the bloody ravages of war. Today we get bothsidesnism that results in pablum.

(6,186 posts)The guy advocated the overthrow of the government and sent his mob to the Capitol to get the job done.
The morally bad decision is the one Musk is planning to do.
Apparently he is willing to allow anyone to say anything on Twitter.
I wonder if there is any situation where someone would get banned for what they say on Twitter?
Suppose someone called for the death of Elon Musk; not that I'm advocating it, but the people storming the Capitol were chanting 'Hang Mike Pence".
Is that free speech? Is shouting "fire" in a crowded theater free speech?
There are limits to free speech, and Trump's advocacy of overthrow of the government to keep him in power went way past those limits.
That's why he got a lifetime ban.
I don't believe "free speech" is Musk's motive; that's pure BS.

(9,025 posts)I'm afraid the term "morally bad decision" means quite different things to different people.
I hear Musk eventually wants to do an IPO for Twitter, after he takes it private and miraculously saves and enhances the company.
Could be just another money-making ploy.

Or are you going to use it to show the world how utterly bugfuck drooling insane he is?
Or use it to make "moderate" Republicans in swing seats own every iota of his madness and shitty behavior?
Or to remind folks the GOP has no ideology by idolatry to Tangerine Baal?

(50,561 posts)Day 1: Tesla CEO Elon Musk closes deal to buy Twitter.
Day 2: Tesla and Twitter CEO Elon Musk rescinds bans on Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Mike Lindell, Alex Jones, Roger Smith, Milo Yiannopoulis, Martin Shkreli, Jacob Wohl, Lin Wood, Steve Bannon, Michael Flynn, Sidney Powell, James O'Keefe, David Duke and Tia Tequila.
Day 3: Fourteen million liberals cancel their reservations for Tesla cars. Some of the cars cancelled were on trucks en route to their purchasers.
Day 4: Tesla customer service representatives unsuccessfully attempt to talk many of the cancelees into buying the cars anyway. "Yeah, we know our boss is a fuckhead but this is a really good car, and Mr. Musk is going to personally fire me if I can't talk you into accepting the car." The representatives are informed that companies run by adults are hiring.
Day 5: Tesla board holds emergency meeting to discuss how to correct Tesla's sudden downturn. The board's preferred solution, to put Mr. Musk in a gunny sack with 500 pounds of rocks and a mountain lion and drop it in the nearest river, is decided against due to the lack of availability of mountain lions and Musk is simply fired.
