The U.S. Capitol Police said they arrested a man near the Capitol with high capacity magazines

Source: Politico

What happened: The U.S. Capitol Police said in a statement they arrested an armed 53-year-old man around 5:00 a.m. parked in close proximity to the Capitol complex.

What he had: The man, identified as Jerome Felipe from Flint, Mich., had a fake badge, BB gun, body armor, high capacity magazines and other ammunition. Police caught up with him parked in a 2017 Dodge Challenger on the west side of the complex.

Their interaction: According to police, Felipe gave the officers a badge that read "Department of the INTERPOL." (Obviously, no such agency exists.) They said no real guns were found.

The agency posted pics of what they found:

High capacity magazines aren't of much use in a BB gun. rsdsharp Jun 2022 #1

that he couldn’t use .223 rifle magazines in a BB handgun.

Like rifles don't make very good clubs, magazines don't make very good throwing objects. Just carry rocks. Legal everywhere. Me thinks there's a whole lot more to this story.

Someone used him to make security reveal how they respond to threats? That is useful information for those planning a diversion.

this is a distinct possibility. The RW scum intent on turning America into a fascist state is not done yet with doing that very thing that they tried to do on 1/6/21.

Unless he actually represented himself as an officer. The badge looks more like a kids toy replica.

And that's an awful liberal interpretation of 'body armor' in that picture. The stack of papers in the bag would offer a LOT more armor protection than the two vests.

Nice car though.

Is kind of similar to old guys on Harleys. I've noticed it for several years.

First time when I was considering buying a Charger myself, haha.
