Rep. Mo Brooks -- one of the Republican lawmakers facing calls from the January 6 committee to testify about his interactions with former President Donald Trump -- said Wednesday that he is willing to testify but only in public.
"My basic requirement is it be in public so the public can see it -- so they don't get bits and pieces dribbled out," the Alabama Republican said. He also said he'd testify only about matters related to January 6, 2021, and wants to see copies of any documents beforehand that the panel may ask him about.
Even though the House select committee announced subpoenas for Brooks and four other Republicans last month, he had yet to be served with one because he had been campaigning for the GOP Senate nomination in Alabama. Brooks lost in a runoff Tuesday night.
Committee Chair Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, told CNN that the panel has "redone his subpoena" and "he's the only member we hadn't been able to serve."

(108,997 posts)people to hear from in a 2 hour block of time.
And even if they gave him 8 hours, he'd still be blowing smoke. They need to get his testimony nailed down before they put him in front of the cameras.

(8,935 posts)Pendejo45 rescinded his endorsement, then late in the campaign he endorsed his opponent Katie Britt.
With Pendejo45's endorsed candidates dropping like flies, he decided to endorse a sure thing in Britt to make his numbers look better.
I'm sure Mo is not too happy. Hello 1/6 Committee.

What a mess. They're all finding out that siding with trump means disaster as in the end he'll be for himself only.

(7,715 posts)He will probably turn out like Rusty Bowers, nearly in tears and upset about threats to him and his family...but he would still vote for Trump.
These people are just shocking.

The only reason why Mo May give some good stuff is to hurt TFG TFG screwed Mo and payback may be a good motivator

(11,885 posts)After TFG refused to endorse him, now that he lost his primary. TFG will start a negative attack campaign against him very soon if they think he's going to flip. Mo may be pissed he was abandoned, and didn't see it coming. TFG always turns on others after he uses them.

(129,573 posts)I *think* he would be the first of a number of "top tier" GOP insurrectionist Congress members (not just the idiots who voted to object to state certifications), who were involved in planning the coup, to interview/testify.
Someone needs to get Scott Perry's (PA-10) ass in there too (he was subpoenaed earlier along with McCarthy, Biggs, and Gymsuit).
