Gaming and Entertainment Companies Respond After Supreme Court Overturns Roe v. Wade

Source: IGN

Following this morning's Supreme Court decision to overturn landmark abortion rights decision Roe v. Wade, video game and entertainment companies are beginning to speak out against the ruling, and in support of reproductive freedoms.

Having previously made a statement of support when the decision prematurely leaked in May, Bungie has updated its blog post on the subject to announce it was implementing a travel reimbursement program for employees and their dependents to access reproductive healthcare that may not be available in their states.

Bungie isn't alone in speaking up. Insomniac Games tweeted a statement as well which reads, "We are human beings who make games. Reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy are human rights."

Sony Santa Monica tweeted similarly a few hours later: "We believe that bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom are fundamental human rights. Santa Monica Studio will continue to uphold these values and support our team members in receiving access to the care they need."

how they'll keep their employees anonymous who take advantage of that benefit. You just KNOW that right wing prosecutors will be foaming at the mouth to get their hands on that information and prosecute those women.

having an abortion where it’s legal?

Yes, neo-fascist Republican prosecutors might try to convict women who have abortions in other states, but if the ‘crime’ wasn’t committed in the prosecutor’s state, such a prosecution is legally doubtful.

Women and their employers shouldn’t allow that possibility to deter them from going to a free state where the female employee can exercise her right to privacy.

Like the Kentucky Turtle, I expect to hear crickets from those that own the Republican Party.

Rethugs think they just solidified a lot of political power but instead in the long-term are digging their political grave.

They can't seem to learn that you must never, never, never try to marginalize women in our society.

for human rights protections. I'd like to see a deluge of people withdrawing support from r political figures. I'd like to see every person who supports women's rights, human rights, organized to absent themselves from church on a certain day designated as a human rights support day.

I hope the 6 a*ssholes who took away my rights, my personhood, have to have security every day for the rest of their lives, and have to look over their shoulders wherever they go, forever.

with their pocketbook and donate to Democrats.
That and relocate out of any states that have or had strict abortion laws as well as cancel any plans of creating any new jobs in said states and make it clear that is why they are doing it.

to attack the very foundations of this country ......life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness....and maybe do a little more soul searching.....and heed the words of John Trudell who said ......

FTFY

Pull out of states that outlaw abortion and, maybe, I'll start to take them seriously. I'm sure I'll hear a thousand reasons why they can't.

I would also rather spend time playing one of their games on a Sunday instead of being inside a church...

...in fact since I don't plan on ever attending a church again, don't mind if I do.

Women aren't going to want to ask their employers for money for this, there needs to be a trusted outside agency (subject to HIPAA) to handle the compensation that keeps the names private from the employer.

And they'll need to be located in a free state.
