LA County's indoor mask mandate could return by end of July

Source: CBS News

The Los Angeles Department of Public Health said Thursday that the county could move into the "high" risk COVID-19 threshold by next Thursday, prompting the return of an indoor mask mandate.

"The newest projected date of crossing the threshold of 10 admissions per 100,000 residents...is now next week on July 14," said Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer.

If the county does cross the threshold, it will reinstate the indoor mask mandate on July 29.

Meanwhile, the county is preparing for what's next. It has scheduled more than 700 mobile vaccine clinics across the county with over 1,000 stand-alone facilities ready to dole out the shots.

Vaccinated and boosted twice, I don't want to catch that crap. My wife's boss caught it at a dinner party a few weeks ago, she was sick for two weeks!

I think we could have stopped the virus if it weren't for anti-maskers and corporations complaining. As such, they had to come up with a system.

My city (Philadelphia) was absolutely and viciously eviscerated for trying to follow the very guidelines that the media insisted that we develop and implement, which were designed to be proactive and preemptive.

When the thresholds were triggered, we received a fusillade of the broken record "The only big city to re-impose an indoor mask mandate...", "The only big city to... ", "The only big city to....", "The only big city to...". It literally went viral while the world pointed and laughed at us (and now as we're seeing, wave #8 with BA.5 coming or underway around the country).

When a municipality has no one having their back, they eventually give up, do this and walk away.

After watching nearly 2 years of daily, then biweekly, then weekly, then ad hoc pressers from both the mayor and health department, it seemed to boil down to these mandates making it "inconvenient" for the young reporters' to party and enjoy themselves unhindered and whatnot.

This is why my poor mayor literally just came out with what is a HUMAN response to his frustration over the past 7 years, and with that, he once again got savaged for giving an honest response (where he was mayor during the pandemic, a recession, an election where PA became one of the ground zero states - and this city, the ground zero of the state - for overturning the election, among other things including the fallout of unfettered access to guns, including ghost guns, with every ordinance implemented by the city, overturned by the state due to the state's "preemption" provision).

All I can say is that people can be evil.

I would say there is a good chance that we are going to restart school with masks on in my NC county.
