U.S. CDC advisers back Novavax COVID vaccine for adults

July 18 (Reuters) - Advisers to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Tuesday voted unanimously to recommend use of Novavax Inc's (NVAX.O) COVID-19 vaccine for individuals aged 18 and above.

The shot has been endorsed by the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). CDC Director Rochelle Walensky still needs to sign off on the recommendations before the vaccine can be made available in the United States, and the shot may not be immediately ready for rollout.

The U.S. government has secured 3.2 million Novavax vaccine doses, but is waiting for the company to finish quality testing before they can be released. Novovax hopes to finish testing in the next few weeks.

The vaccine was authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration last week as a two-dose primary vaccination series, becoming the fourth COVID shot to be authorized for use in adults in the United States. read more

The ACIP members just voted and are making comments post-vote. The vote was unanimous. Will just need the CDC Director sign-off and Novavax will become another vaccine option. It's currently not approved as a booster or in a "mix/match" series. They are aiming at the people who are still unvaccinated who don't want mRNA vaccines.

One of the members actually had survey data for potential interest in getting this vaccine vs the mRNA ones and came up with this (summary) -

So I think they are looking at focusing on that "16%" and maybe hoping to convince a few % of them. I guess something is better than nothing!

(am guessing for some, as long as it doesn't have "xNA" (DNA or RNA) in the name, then it might not be considered part of some CT that proves that the vaccine "re-writes" your genes and chromosomes )

Nothing short of a mandate will do it, and that will be fought in court and overturned by this corrupt SCOTUS.

It's like telling someone who hates spinach to try sautéed spinach instead of creamed spinach. They won't do it as long as they have a choice.
