Parkland survivor David Hogg was thrown out of a House gun control meeting on Wednesday after he accused GOP Rep. Andy Biggs of parroting the same rhetoric employed by gunmen in mass shootings.

The House Judiciary Committee gathered on Wednesday to discuss gun control policies, including the 2021 Assault Weapons Ban and the Equal Access for Victims of Gun Violence Act.

During the meeting, Biggs, a Republican from Arizona, claimed Americans, specifically residents of his state, need assault weapons to protect themselves against an "invasion" of undocumented migrants, whom the conservative lawmaker said posed "a danger or threat."

Biggs' remarks prompted Hogg to rise from his seat in the gallery and yell: "You're reiterating the points of mass shooters in your manifesto!"

At about 1:41 he says Republicans and Democrats have failed.

It's just a fact. He said it. And it's not true. I personally don't see Republican roadblocks as Democratic "failure."

He is asking for regulations so that families will not be forever scarred because the Republicans can't agree on basic regulations, that will make everyone safer in this country. The people on the front lines of standing up and making "good trouble" in the gun debate seem to be those who dodged a bullet, those who weren't so lucky, or the families of the sacrificial lambs to America's blood lust. Dennis Kucinich was the youngest mayor ever, I believe, and he ended up in the House.

I knew a young man once who claimed to want to go into politics, but when I mentioned several local options and how to use them as a stepping stone to our state capitol in fairly short order, he was flat-out uninterested — he didn’t want to start close to the bottom and work his way up. He was also not nearly as bright as he thought he was.

Young Mr Hogg is on a mission, and is an admirable young fellow. He is driven by the tragedy he endured. I hope there is someone who can help him harness that fire for the long haul.
