Nick Begich refuses Sarah Palin's request to drop out of Alaska congressional House race

"It's time for the GOP to unite, we have to unite behind my candidacy and start today with Nick Begich withdrawing from this race," Palin said at a press conference Monday in Wasilla, Alaska, according to CBS News.
The deadline to drop out of the November election was Monday.
Begich, who sought to cast Palin as a quitter and questioned her motives in running during the primary, said Monday his campaign is confident that we are on a positive trajectory to win in November.

Here is how the voting broke down in the primary with the votes won and the percentage of votes cast.

Republican Sarah Palin 57,693 30.20
Republican Nick Begich III 50,021 26.19
Libertarian Chris Bye 1,189 0.62
Additionally, there were 11,817 votes cast for the other 13 candidates who were running in the primary for the house seat.
Sarah Palin's former father in law endorsed Nick Begich.
