N. Korea says it will never give up nukes to counter US

Source: AP

By KIM TONG-HYUNG

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un stressed his country will never abandon the nuclear weapons it needs to counter the United States, which he accused of pushing to weaken the North’s defenses and eventually collapse his government, state media said Friday.

Kim made the comments during a speech Thursday at North Korea’s rubber-stamp parliament, where members passed legislation governing the use of nuclear weapons, which Kim described as a step to cement the country’s nuclear status and make clear such weapons will not be bargained.

The law spells out conditions where North would be inclined to use its nuclear weapons, including when it determines that its leadership is facing an imminent “nuclear or non-nuclear attack by hostile forces.” The law requires North Korea’s military to “automatically” execute nuclear strikes against enemy forces, including their “starting point of provocation and the command,” if Pyongyang’s leadership comes under attack.

The law also says North Korea could use nukes to prevent an unspecified “catastrophic crisis” to its government and people, a loose definition that experts say reflect an escalatory nuclear doctrine that could create greater concerns for neighbors.

Kim Jong-un is not a fool.
All he does is look at the deceased Saddam Hussein and no longer living Muammar Gaddafi for the two reasons why he would be a fool to give them up

5. Under Bill Clinton and previous Presidents N. Korea never built a nuclear weapon or an ICBM
Fri Sep 9, 2022, 08:25 AM
Sep 2022

The reasons:

1) We paid them off in food not to build a nuke.

2) We talked to them.

Under Clinton the N. Koreans liked to talk with Bill Richardson and he would meet them in some
place in the Philippines and after a few days of them talking about the American Devils and the
CIA he would ask, "OK how much food do you need?" And then the Dept. of Ag would see what
kind of surplus agricultural commodities we had such as rice, flour, wheat, corn, meat, poultry,
and so on and then we would ship some of those products to N. Korea and in turn N. Korea would
not build nuclear weapons. It was a win win win because N. Korea didn't build nuclear weapons, God
only knows how many Koreans would not be starving, and American Farmers would get paid and
the price of their products were supported.

Then this "thing" happened.

But then in 2000 the SCOTUS installed w who quit speaking to K to the J w/ the I and L (Jim Ward's
hip hop name for Kim Jong Il) and the North Koreans even though they were begging to do so after 9/11
because they were part of "The Axis of Evil." So they started building nuclear weapons and advanced
ICBMs. BTW Trump's buddy Vlad helped Kim Jong Un's missile program by sending him advanced
ICBM parts and technology from the old Soviet Union.

I wonder if Joe B has Bill (he is a good man) Richardson's number?

Antony Blinken is really f...ing good because you almost never hear about what he is doing.
Same with John Kerry and Dr. Ernest Moniz in getting an excellent deal done with Iran that
kept them from ever building a nuclear weapon because they didn't talk about "things." Trump
killed that deal where the 1st line in it was something like Iran will never build a nuclear
weapon.

11. According to the DOD they launched an ICBM in 1998.

The first issue here is that no matter what the purpose of the August 31st launch was, whether it was to launch a satellite or to do something else, it did demonstrate that the North Koreans have an ability to delivery payloads over a longer range with the new Taepo-Dong I missile, and that, of course, is worrisome. The North Koreans have said they were doing this to launch a satellite. So far we cannot confirm that they have successfully launched a satellite.

It's being formalized because apparently it's not too clear from vague statements made by the new South Korean president and some US officials about what kind of response there might be to another ICBM or nuclear test. Apparently seeming to leave open the possibility of a US/ South Korean military response.

In particular, that might be the widely discussed US decapitation attack on North Korea or the "preemptive strike" mentioned by President Yoon. These implied threats, have been accompanied by military exercises near the DMZ, and the proposed return of US "strategic assets" to the Korean theater this month.

So this is the end of any restraint on military activity tacitly agreed to at Singapore.
