Biden tells Al Sharpton he will run for president again in 2024

Source: NBC News

President Joe Biden told Rev. Al Sharpton that he will seek a second term in a private conversation at the White House last month, the civil rights leader informed his National Action Network staff in Washington later that day.

“I’m going to do it again,” Biden said as he posed for a photograph with Sharpton, who is also an MSNBC host, in the Roosevelt Room, according to a NAN official who recounted Sharpton’s description. “I’m going.”

While Biden allies have said he will seek re-election, he has shied away from declaring that unequivocally, at least in part to avoid triggering campaign-finance reporting laws. His remarks to Sharpton at the tail end of a meeting with the leaders of several of the nation's most prominent civil rights organizations represent a stronger assertion that he will be on the ballot again.

NBC News has reached out to the White House for comment on Biden's intentions.

In 2020, Black voters were the key to Biden’s comeback in the Democratic primary, helping him win the pivotal South Carolina contest after he failed to take first place in the first three races in Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada. Three days later, Biden's overwhelming support among Black voters propelled him to an insurmountable delegate lead on Super Tuesday.

Part of that is because Trump has always been a mental midget, and then those early years of heavy drug use tend to have an impact on health later in life. Add the family history of Alzheimer’s, and you have a man who not only looks unhealthy but is most likely drugged to the gills most of the time with medications for various ailments.

I doubt Biden has ever done drugs, and it’s clear that he has maintained a healthy lifestyle throughout his life.

He has shown we have our heart and our minds again, that the USA is back and is doing well. We are respected and loved again by our international partners and friends. We have restored trust and hope in the best this country has to offer.

OTOH, I want to see our new leaders step forward. We have great choices, no matter where you look.

Here we go again looking for a sure fire way to lose. We barely and I say barely got rid of the worst president in history in 2020 which should have been a landslide victory but turned out to be just OK we won with Joe Biden. Young America is getting fed up with old candidates and many stayed home on 2020. We run Biden again and we'll be handing the presidency to Desantis. The time has come for a young vibrant Jack Kennedy era to be ushered into America. America's young voters are disconnected, financially strapped, and have no future. Please don't tell me about how 10k student loan relief isn't anything more than a bandaid on a shotgun wound. We are sitting here talking about how Roe being struck down was going to be the death of republicans this coming midterms but the polls aren't showing that. We're already burdened with this terrible inflation situation which in two years could be worse and we're talking about running Joe again. Holy shit. And no I'm not going to add " Sorry this is just my Two Cents".. Shit if Dems run Biden again I might just stay home in 24 and I'm in my mid 60s

Try getting THAT messaging out to youth. You really think they didn't think he was old when they voted for him in 2020? As Obama would say, COME ON.

Don't FUD me, bro.

A president has to say he's running again or thinking about running again or he loses a lot of his political influence and it becomes almost impossible to accomplish anything.

I wouldn't read a lot into it.

Can you imagine how much of a lame duck he'd be?

Yeah, inflation sucks. But look around you. It's affecting the world not just this country. That's not Biden's fault.

Hardly newsworthy. Nothing the President will do is going to be announced THIS early. And he knows it.

Even Bill Maher has become a fan.

Age is not our number one issue here. He has shown compassion and competence.

I love Joe!
