KYIV, Ukraine (AP) Two explosions rocked Kyiv early Monday following months of relative calm in the Ukrainian capital.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitchko reported explosions in the citys Shevchenko district, a large area in the center of Kyiv that includes the historic old town as well as several government offices.
Lesia Vasylenko, a member of Ukraines parliament, posted a photo on Twitter showing that at least one explosion occurred near the main building of the Kyiv National University in central Kyiv.

Putin, the real terrorist is at it again. Striking civilian targets.

The regional governor of Lviv has confirmed on Telegram that the city near the border with Poland was hit this morning.

(4,362 posts)the Ukrainian way, instead spelling it Kiev. That's one hint they are likely not pro-Ukrainian. Not always, but likely.

(4,362 posts)Geneva Convention, is a legitimate military target. The civilians who have been killed or maimed this morning, are not. There is a huge difference here and Ukraine escalated nothing by attacking the bridge. Ukraine has every right to stop an invaders military equipment from entering it's sovereign territory, regardless if Putin tries to "annex" the land or not. Putin has no moral or legal grounds to stand on here. It is Russia and Putin who started this war and are escalating it to dangerous levels.

(43,890 posts)Putin attacked Kyiv. That's the escalation, not the attack on the bridge.
In classic Russian fashion, there's an attack before offering to negotiate.

It's only going to piss the Ukrainians off even more, not a great idea Vlad.

(7,335 posts)If the west won't take overt military action, then at least dial up the sanctions to max and make Russia feel like the pariah it is.
How Russia can justify this is mind boggling. Yet cries like a baby when one of their precious bridges is targeted.
The history books--assuming we survive this--will not be kind about this era.
