(66,369 posts)He perfectly captured Falstaffs roguish, sad, clownish, tragic charm. If an actor cant bring off Falstaffs plea to Prince Hal, We have heard the chimes at midnight, he should just pack it in.
I would have given anything to see Coltrane as Falstaff in the Henry IV plays.
