Former Wyoming man gets 30 days for role in Capitol breach

Source: AP

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A former Wyoming man who climbed through a broken window at the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to pay $1,500 in fines and restitution.

Andrew Galloway, 34, pleaded guilty in March to a misdemeanor charge of parading, demonstrating or picketing inside the Capitol for entering the Capitol about 11 minutes after supporters of then-President Donald Trump were able to overpower Capitol police and break into the building.

Galloway spent about 10 minutes inside, according to prosecutors and his attorney.

He was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Washington.

it would end their rights to possess firearms. An insurrection should carry a stronger penalty than jay walking.

A man with Cody ties has been charged in U.S. District Court for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots.

According to the filing affidavit, Andrew Galloway was interviewed by FBI agents at his home outside of Cody at some point in the past year. Galloway is the listed agent for a Wyoming limited liability company Powderkeg Patriots Apparel, with an associated address in the South Fork. According to the Park County Assessor's Office, Galloway sold this Mountain Court property on June 14. He was a resident at the time of the Capitol riot and had purchased the property in January 2020.

Powderkeg Patriots was renewed as a Wyoming LLC in November, after Galloway had moved away to his current residency of Tennessee.

On Wednesday, Powderkeg Patriots made a post on Facebook that said, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are temporarily closed."

According to the FBI, they received an online tip following the events at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 concerning Andrew James Galloway’s participation in the Capitol riot. The tip attached a TikTok video in which Galloway states, “Yeah, that was us today; no, that wasn’t Antifa.” A still from the TikTok video showing Galloway was included in the criminal complaint.
