GOP Sen. Scott calls for delay in leadership election: It doesn't make sense to have them this week

Source: CNN

GOP Sen. Rick Scott, who is the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, called for a delay in the Senate leadership election scheduled for Wednesday, saying it "doesn't make any sense" to have them this week.

"What is our plan, what are we running on? What do we stand for? What are we hellbent ... to get done? There's no plan to do that," Scott said on Fox News. "The leadership in the Republican Senate says you cannot have a plan, we're just gonna run against how bad the Democrats are. And actually they cave into the Democrats. Now they want to rush through an election. We haven't even finished what's happened in Georgia."

He added: "They want to rush through an election because they don't want to do any assessment of what we've done wrong. Insanity is doing the exact same thing and thinking you're gonna get different results. We won't."

Scott also said "a lot of people" have asked him to run for minority leader.

McConnell was 80 years old this past February. If he lost the minority leadership, it’s likely he would never regain it again. That might be enough to get him to finally retire, especially since the Kentucky legislature took away the Governor’s right to appoint someone to fill a Senatorial vacancy. The new law says the appointee has to be of the same party and can only be selected by state party leaders, in effect violating the 17th Amendment that says state legislatures may not select US Senators.

A Senate without McConnell would be good because he is ruthless in using his power to corral fellow Senators in his obstruction of all things democratic and Democratic.

and I don't mean rick, if insanity is doing the same thing again and again, (like electing grassley) and expecting a different result, all of you traitors, and rwnj, and hacks, retire, right now. Let people who support your side of the aisle have some decent people to vote on. People who look human, and even betterm act human.

Now, f**k off.

I would love to see him shove the political knife into Scott. It would be like watching two people you hate each driving in their own cars and smashing into each other. As the horrible wreck unfolds you try to decide which one to rush to first to see if they are O.K. but then you keep walking.

The NRSC (National Republican Senatorial Committee) is the only national organization solely devoted to strengthening the Republican Senate Majority and electing Republicans to the United States Senate.

We provide invaluable support and assistance to current and prospective Republican U.S. Senate candidates in the areas of budget planning, election law compliance, fundraising, communications tools and messaging, and research and strategy.

The Republican senators should not be listening to Scott about anything. Doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.

On second thought, yes by all means listen to the idiot.

was call my land line multiple times a day for months. I blocked their entire (202) 9xxx-xxxx auto-dial bundle of exchanges using my Digitone call blocker, for the duration (and they're still blocked).

ETA - some of the numbers would come up as "Name Unavailable" even though they previously used a Caller ID of "NRSC" for the same number. It didn't matter. ALL of their numbers were BLOCKED.
