to the white supremacists who tried to pretend they couldn't possibly allow voting the day after Robert E. Lee's "birthday*"

* Robert E. Lee was born on January 19, 1807.
* Robert E. Lee was a traitor to the United States, so remind me again why we ever had a holiday honoring him?

Trevor Noah was explaining the difference between racism in South Africa and America. In his country, it's in your face, for everyone to see with no buffers. Here in America, it's subtle, just below the surface but just as evil and maniacal as South Africa's.

GOP voter suppression and other means of American systemic racism continues, for the most part.
