Teenager dies and 22 injured in twin rush-hour blasts in Jerusalem
Source: The Guardian
A teenage boy has died and 22 people have been injured in two blasts targeting rush-hour commuters in Jerusalem, attacks that hark back to the violence of the second intifada, or Palestinian uprising.
The first explosion occurred shortly after 7am local time on Wednesday near a bus stop packed with civilians on the western outskirts of the divided city. The second blast, half an hour later near a busy junction in the Ramot settlement, north of Jerusalem, injured another five people. The teenager who died from his injuries in hospital was named as a dual Israeli-Canadian citizen, Aryeh Schupak, 16.
Four people were in serious condition, according to Israels rescue service, Magen David Adom. Yosef Haim Gabay, a medic who was at the bus stop, told Army Radio there was damage everywhere and that some of the wounded were bleeding heavily. Ambulance and police sirens blared across the city.

(7,572 posts): more than 130 Palestinians have been killed in fighting in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since the beginning of 2022, and 29 Israelis have been killed in stabbing, car-ramming and gun attacks. Another 49 Palestinians, among them 17 children, were killed in a three-day Israeli aerial offensive on the Gaza Strip in August.
from the link.
179 dead in an area of a few hundred miles in length.
The recent election of Netanyahu doesnt portend well, in my opinion.
Events in Iran, Qatar, Yemen, Ethiopia plus food prices of Egypt contribute to instability or the feeling of instability.
I am using words which are often used to whitewash violence. stability , security . inflation
What this really means is: some people dont have much food and may starve to death. my particular area is safe, but i do hear of people going without food in my neighborhood.
Id say more but i hope for better sources when i do.

(15,578 posts)Palestinians need to stop trying to kill Isrelis. But they won't.
They made a pretty bad tactical mistake by killing that Druze kid and kidnapping the body.

(15,578 posts)But now it's more about replacing Israel with another Arab Muslim country. It's the position of the European left and a lot of "progressives" in the US like Ariel Gold, Beinart, Tlaib etc. Israel will never agree to the destruction of their country, nor should they.
The really sad irony is that the success of Palestinian propaganda like the Aparthied lie and the illegal occupation lie makes peace less likely, not more. And the absurd growth of the "refugee" population is the cherry on top.
