Elon Musk Says Twitter Is Launching A New Color-Coded Verification Scheme Next Week -- Here's What We

Elon Musk Says Twitter Is Launching A New Color-Coded Verification Scheme Next Week — Here’s What We Know So Far

-snip-

Gold ticks will be given to verified company accounts and gray ticks will be handed to “government” accounts.

Blue checks will now be given to “all” verified individuals, celebrity or not, Musk said, explaining that the boundary of what constitutes notable is “otherwise too subjective.”

-snip-

Musk described the implementation of manual verification as a “painful, but necessary” step to tackle impersonation. Given the mass firing and exodus of staffers since Musk took the reins in October, this process is likely to add considerable strain to Twitter’s already pressured workforce.

Replying to questions on Twitter asking whether the check marks will actually help users differentiate between similar accounts, Musk acknowledged the possibility the scheme will not go to plan and vowed to act accordingly. Deliberate impersonation or deception will result in account suspension, he said, adding that users could use organizational affiliation, biography and follower counts to help distinguish between accounts with the same name. Musk said Twitter could show follower counts under people’s names on tweets and allow filtering based on follower amount “if it actually becomes a problem.”

This is of course still going to create chaos.

And given the symbolism attached to the colors gold and gray, it's interesting that businessman Musk is giving gold to businesses and gray to government.

he does.

And I'm starting to see a lot of the "he sacrificed a life of luxury to help us" crap I used to see about Trump from his followers.

Hell, the Daily Caller even tweeted an article about how much less Musk is worth now, which of course is do to his crazy behavior and incompetence, as something he sacrificed for a noble cause.

Green – convicts and criminals

Blue – foreign forced laborers and emigrants

Purple – Jehovah's Witnesses

Brown – Roma

Yellow - Jews

(For those who are unaware, that's the color scheme for the triangles affixed to people's clothing when they were put into German concentration camps during WWII. Elon Musk has a habit of promoting far right wing people, groups and ideals, including overt promotion of Nazism. For those who have doubts or think that's hyperbole: https://securityboulevard.com/2022/11/tesla-ceo-promotes-nazism-while-trying-to-undercut-german-government/ )

It reminds me of a radio station I worked at. The owner talked about “Eagles” and “Buzzards.” The eagles were the sales staff, and the air/programming staff were the buzzards.

There is always tension between the two; sales tells air that they wouldn’t get paid without sales. Air tells sales the wouldn’t have anything to sell without air. But that was ridiculous

https://www.thenationalnews.com/business/technology/2022/11/24/elon-musk-refusing-to-pay-twitter-travel-expenses-report-says/?outputType=amp

"He is now refusing to pay travel vendors for the bills, which he said were authorised by the company's former management and not him, and his staff are subsequently avoiding calls from the vendors.

Twitter employees have been instructed to renegotiate technology service deals with the companies such as Amazon and Oracle, while corporate credit cards have been shut off, the report said.

Employee benefits [previously part of their compensation] that have been trimmed include subsidised gym passes, phone and internet bills and childcare stipends."

It is clear he's got a first class understanding of contracts and billing.

The litigation will last for years after the default and foreclosure. They'll have to send Big Luca to get anything out of Eloon.

I can see he'll go far.

For example:

"The ubiquitous blue check mark currently used for all verified accounts will be replaced with a system of blue, gold and gray ticks, Musk said."

No, the blue check mark is NOT currently used for all verified accounts, it's given to everyone willing pay $8 a month, verified or not. It used to only be given to verified accounts until Eloon changed it about 2 weeks ago. Now he seems to changing it back & a bunch of people who paid $8 & got a blue check for a couple weeks will have it taken away unless they get verified.

When it comes to running a social media company, Eloon is an idiot.
