George Santos' Sister Facing Eviction For Unpaid Rent Of $40,000

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Omaha Steve (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: Crooks & Liars

According to a court filing, Tiffany Santos has not paid rent in years and owes nearly $40k in back rent. However, she found time to contribute $5000 to her brother's campaign. And she received more than $30,000 in federal emergency rental assistance during COVID. Oh, and George Santos has consistently listed as his address on federal campaign finance loans her address in Queens, despite being registered to vote at another address. Confused yet? You're not the only one.

Scamming, grifting, etc seems to be in the family DNA.

Rep.-elect George Santos’ sister reportedly skipped years of rent on the Queens apartment the siblings once shared — but still managed in that time to dish out tens of thousands of dollars in political contributions, including $5,000 to her lying brother’s campaign.

Court records show that Tiffany Santos is facing eviction from the Elmhurst apartment for failing to pay nearly $40,000 in rent since August 2020, the Daily Beastt first reported on Thursday.

She also uses the name Lee & appears to be connected to Lee PAC.

Maybe they’ll give them a cell together!

How in the name of Odin do you manage to run up $40,000 in back rent without getting evicted? One would think the landlord's lawyer would have been down at the prosecutor's office filing an eviction order about $30,000 before then.

Evicting someone is hard.
Still $40.000 is unheard of.

She thought she could live rent-free while the moratorium was in effect and worry about the repercussions later.

to evict. But article says she got rent money given to her but didn't give it to landlord.

Some landlords are bad but a lot are just people that own 2 or 3 homes. My son n law owns a bunch of older homes in Sacramento along with his dad. They were worried during that time but lucky everyone paid rent as they had loan payments to make.

Thirty thousand dollars of rent assistance and still not paying her rent!
Like brother, like sister. Apparently fraud runs in the family.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this sounds like a federal fraud case to me as well as a local eviction.

…and how well connected *that* person is within the party.

The more that comes to light about Santos; the more I envision he gets thrown to the wolves by his colleagues who are far more connected than this freshman Congressman to prove “See; we’re tough on corruption…”

Maybe; but I just don’t see Santos being connected enough to survive the jackals within the Republican party.

Only a matter of time.
