According to a court filing, Tiffany Santos has not paid rent in years and owes nearly $40k in back rent. However, she found time to contribute $5000 to her brother's campaign. And she received more than $30,000 in federal emergency rental assistance during COVID. Oh, and George Santos has consistently listed as his address on federal campaign finance loans her address in Queens, despite being registered to vote at another address. Confused yet? You're not the only one.
Scamming, grifting, etc seems to be in the family DNA.

(50,567 posts)How in the name of Odin do you manage to run up $40,000 in back rent without getting evicted? One would think the landlord's lawyer would have been down at the prosecutor's office filing an eviction order about $30,000 before then.

Some landlords are bad but a lot are just people that own 2 or 3 homes. My son n law owns a bunch of older homes in Sacramento along with his dad. They were worried during that time but lucky everyone paid rent as they had loan payments to make.

and how well connected *that* person is within the party.
The more that comes to light about Santos; the more I envision he gets thrown to the wolves by his colleagues who are far more connected than this freshman Congressman to prove See; were tough on corruption
Maybe; but I just dont see Santos being connected enough to survive the jackals within the Republican party.
Only a matter of time.
