Trump campaign warns potential DeSantis staffers they won't be hired to work for former president
Source: NBC News
Former President Donald Trump's 2024 campaign has decided that anyone who works for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, including on a potential presidential bid, will be ineligible to join the Trump campaign or another Trump White House.
Trump aide Justin Caporale confirmed the decision to NBC News, and it's a warning shot to political operatives mulling their next moves. The development, first reported by RealClearPolitics, comes as Trump holds onto a substantial polling lead and the DeSantis operation begins to materialize.
Caporale worked for DeSantis' 2018 gubernatorial campaign and briefly in the governor's administration as director of external affairs. He's now, however, back in Trump world. Other members of Trump's inner orbit have also previously worked for DeSantis, including top aide Susie Wiles.

If this were happening in the Democratic party, the media would have long adopted the "Democrats in disarray" narrative.
The Republican party is divided and it will get worse.
Trump is out to end DeSantis' career.
I hope DeSantis and Pence start an independent party with the motto, "We are only 95% as dangerous as Trump".

Trumps White House was vastly understaffed. People didnt want to be associated with him or have his name on their history. I didnt hear this until after Biden won. His team started planning as soon as he got the nomination to try to catch up on time and any number of regular activities that had to have been undone. Trump was a complete disaster.

James Uthmeier
CHIEF OF STAFF
Uthmeier is considered the most influential of DeSantis three chiefs of staff and led the governors office during much of the time when DeSantis became a post-pandemic political star. DeSantis first two chiefs of staff were longtime operative-types, while Uthmeier is seen as further right on the political spectrum and a better fit for DeSantis, who is championing a policy portfolio directed, in large part, to those on the Republican Partys right flank.
Adam Laxalt
LONGTIME FRIEND, FORMER NEVADA ATTORNEY GENERAL
Laxalt is considered one of the closest friends of DeSantis, who has a reputation of not having many close friends or associates. The two were roommates at the Naval Justice School and have remained close friends, including continuing to talk on the phone regularly. DeSantis gave Laxalts failed U.S. Senate campaign a boost in April when he traveled to Nevada to rally for his campaign and raise money.
