Hmmmmm.
And in Red State America, "legally obtaining" could be a simple, no-questions-asked cash exchange in a parking lot. Perfectly legal, thanks to the GOP.

(16,922 posts)how is it somehow more ok for it to be a bank rather than a school.

(23,694 posts)Kentucky can do what Tennessee did and swamp the Capitol.
Of course it is not a school shooting so don't know how much difference that would make?

I'm from Louisville, and just appalled at what's been happening in the city the past few years. The damn KY legislature is overwhelmingly a bunch of old bible-thumpers with their heads up their asses. Just look at who gets sent to Congress!
Years ago, I used to work in the West end, which used to be the worst area. The building was surrounded by 10 ft high chain link fence, with guards. People mostly lived out in the suburbs and commuted. Louisville is a mostly liberal city, and votes Dem. I don't remember things ever being this bad. There weren't AR-15's back then.
Everyday! Every damn day this happens--like an evil version of Groundhog Day. And the legislators seem to be unfazed by the constant violence.

We have to consider there are a lot of guns out there, it will take some time to clean up.

(1,322 posts)Though it being in the news every night kept people aware too, not like the middle east where it became background almost unnoticeable noise. Except when something happened for political gain.
If we had a draft for Iraq and Afghanistan you can bet no way in hell would we have been over there for 20 years.

(22,582 posts)When Dubya was getting ready to invade Iraq, I kept thinking how different it would be if the government still had the ability to scoop people up and forceably send them over there to fight as happened with Vietnam. The outrage would have been something to reckon with!

(14,371 posts)Or is it still just "thoughts and prayers"? How close was this to your home? Anyone you know in the bank? No? Well, then, I guess you don't and you'll just go on raking in the $$$ from your buddies at the NRA.
Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Lamentations 1:12

They decide to take revenge (on society, on their workplace, on their family, etc.) as they commit suicide by cop. You've seen it enough to understand the pattern by now.
