'Fiscal cliff' talks begin

President Obama opened negotiations with congressional leaders at the White House Friday on ways to avert a looming “fiscal cliff” of huge spending cuts and tax hikes, saying that Americans want “action” from government leaders instead of political bickering.

“I think we’re all aware that we have some urgent business to do,” Obama said before beginning the talks. “We’ve got to make sure that taxes don’t go up on middle-class families.”

We do know this is a charade is about forcing the US to privatize currently non-profit government services and to lower the international demand for Chinese investment dollars.

"Fiscal Cliff" is Frank Luntz speaking. Stop using this term.

If it is a term the Republicans are using every time the discussion is brought up it is Bad for Us!

Seriously, if they want a deal they will have to propose something that actually looks like a compromise.
