President Bidens campaign hit former President Trump over his handling of the COVID pandemic in a new ad on Thursday, answering his rhetorical question if Americans are better off now than four years ago with a resounding, Yes.
The ad opens to a screenshot of Trumps Truth Social post last week urging voters to compare Bidens administration to where the country was in March 2020, alongside news footage of empty grocery store shelves. It is interlaced with clips of Trump downplaying the then-nascent COVID pandemic, including his suggestion for people to inject disinfectant and claims that he was not responsible for the rapidly-increasing deaths from the virus.
The Biden campaign has latched onto four-year comparisons in recent weeks, with the onset of the virus in the U.S. reaching its fourth anniversary earlier this month. The president has doubled down on the position multiple times on campaign stops as well, hitting Trump in Dallas and Houston on Wednesday and Thursday.
Speaking of Donald Trump, just a few days ago, he asked the famous question at one of his rallies: Are you better off today than you were four years ago? Biden said at a Dallas event on Wednesday. Well Donald, Im glad you asked that question man because I hope everyone in the country takes a moment to think back when it was like in March of 2020, he said.

(382 posts)I tried to get a vaccine in early 2021 and was unable to do so.
It was reserved for medical care professionals only.
It I remember, Biden administration had to accelerate production of syringes.
The Trump administration did not adequately plan on rolling out the vaccine.
A vaccine is worthless without syringes.

Never forget that part. -45 even threatened our governor for speaking out against the thievery.

Instead of instituting life-saving policies, he was pooh-poohing the danger and recommending quack theories about clorox and chloroquine.

(23,955 posts)I see it like a testing ground for talking/trolling points ineloquently rehashed by the Fox/Newsmax audience -- which ones get engagement, which engagements lead to easy wins, etc. Interesting to observe, I occasionally dip my toe in to see what happens. Some assertions should not go unchallenged, IMHO.
ETA: went back and it's hopeless now, just a bunch of sneerbots and trolls posting MAGA slogans.

(51,593 posts)just "reporting" on the most idiotic comments is worth a shot. I'm surprised I wasn't given a warning by the You Tube police this week. Last week I was when I wrote that Ethan Crumbley's GOP parents deserve to go to jail for getting their crazy kid a gun. I suppose gun lovers were hurt by my comment. Oh well.
