Democrat Vows to Defend Speaker Johnson From 'Absurd' MTG: 'Kicked Out For Doing The Right Thing'

Source: Mediate

CNN Congressional correspondent Manu Raju caught up with Suozzi on the steps of the Capitol building on Friday where he became the first Democrat to come out against a motion to vacate Johnson.

RAJU: Congressman Suozzi, Democrat of New York, will you vote to keep mike Johnson in as speaker?

SUOZZI: Yes I will.

RAJU: Why is that

SUOZZI: Because it’s absurd that he’s getting kicked out for doing the right thing, getting the keeping the government open. It has two thirds support of the Congress. And the idea that he would be kicked out by these jokers is absurd.

Maybe the Republicans will kick Johnson out because the Democrats approve?

And shutting down the Congress for three weeks isn’t a good way to do that.

But if Johnson is kicked out, the House can do nothing until a new Speaker is identified.

10. Johnson crosses Trump. MTG is eager to please Trump,

so she files a motion to vacate. It's all about Trump. To hell with the budget, the economics. It's about what Trump wants. MTG is the weak, permissive mother to Trump's whining, vitriolic, demanding 4 year-old. At least we're slowly coming to the end of the Trump era. His house of cards empire is starting to crumble. His independent voters are fleeing in droves. Trump can only use the words of a mad man. That's all he has left.

The skeptical view of his TS "windfall" is the right view. Trump pumped up the TS value and the investment suckers bit the hook. They don't have enough failure in their lives, so this gambit makes up for it. At the first rumor that Trump is about to sell, the bottom of the stock price will drop off a cliff. It might happen before then.

Not one republican would defend him if the shoe was on the other foot. He should let them cannibalize each other and shut up.

On one hand, Mike Johnson is a dangerous man to be in line for the presidency. On the other hand, whoever they replace him with is guaranteed to be far worse. Perhaps we will get lucky and a few more republicans will resign and hand us the majority. Then we get rid of the filibuster and Biden, Schumer and Jeffries can get together and do some gangsta shit.

Good gangsta shit.

Motions to vacate can happen often, especially with the loony far right. It will not be a 'one off ' where Johnson will need Democrats. If Democrats act as Suozzi suggests, several things happen :

The far right loses power, even as one of theirs is Speaker
The Democrats gain a small amount of power - mainly to push Senate bipartisan legislation.
We look good, the Republicans with a VERY ANGRY contingent attack each other.
