Source: YNet

The Committee to Free Jonathan Pollard reported Saturday that he collapsed in prison over the weekend and had to be hospitalized.

Pollard, 58, who is serving a life sentence for espionage, has reportedly been experiencing pain for several weeks, but it is still unknown whether it was the cause for his hospitalization.

He took some of the most important secrets of the US, some of which were only of value to the Soviets. This is a million times more serious than what Bradley Manning took – the same Bradley Manning that you strongly condemn.

Israel appears to have traded the documents to the Soviets.

And that has nothing to do with religion. He was paid by a foreign government to provide them with classified information from the inside, and should have been made a harsher example.

Didn't do 1/10th of the damage to this country that The Village Idiot and his National Dick did. When you start talking about people who should die in prison, those 2 and several of their band of coherts are on the absolute top of that list.

I am not trying to in any way deminish the severity of the treasonous acts of those that you mentioned, but merely to point out that while some have been tried and convicted, others have gotten off scott free. There is no sense of equal justice in matters of National disgraces.

Sorry for the rant, but I get all steamed up when I think of those pukes walking the streets of America as if they did nothing illegal, immoral, or just plain wrong.

In order to hate a person you have to know that person, I don't know any of these men...nor do I care to. I hate what they did

I think the problem is that in some circles Mr. Pollard is considered to be some kind of hero, and those people are willing to look past his treason because of the fact that he's Jewish and they actually believe that he did what he did purely for nobel reasons!

Pollard was paid to provide information to a foreign government, just like Walker, Hansen, and Ames were...and just like those men he will have to remain in prison for the rest of his life...for the crime he committed.

for the country that receives more support than any other in US history: Israel. This is consistent with the US/Israel relationship, so Americans have a right to hold Pollard and Israel in contempt.

and nobody needs to bring them up to be fair to Pollard. Pollard is getting the same treatment as other traitor spies. I see a lot of defensiveness on behalf of Pollard in this thread. That is disgusting. Pollard is a traitor who should serve his full term. The people who think Pollard is being pilloried or treated badly in this thread should have their own loyalties examined. Pollard gets no slack from me. He is a traitor.

Is it because we're still supposed to release this traitor at some point for some reason?

Sun Dec 2, 2012, 11:21 AM
Dec 2012

allows him to go to Israel, then that president will greatly offend the intelligence agencies.
This was a number of years ago when I was told this twice without even thinking of bringing up the topic(of which I know little) but these two agents, instructors at the time, brought it up on their own.
Apparently the intel agencies were(are?) upset at the near free hand Mossad has been given within our borders.
Who knows? Why would they tell members of a LE refresher class this at break time unless they were exercised about it?

It's a length but incredibly informative piece on the matter.

And, for after you've read it: How incredibly fucked is that? It's amazing that just one person could fuck over America that hard.

...some reason thought it might've been hyperbole. But, really, thinking on it today I think it's pretty open and shut for just the things which the public knows he did. Of course, as Hersh's sources intone, one of the reasons they may have steered things away from execution is that they believe there was more than one mole in the intelligence infrastructure and possibly hoped by keeping him alive they could get him to eventually reveal other traitors.
