DOJ requests judge order Steve Bannon to begin prison sentence

Source: ABC

Federal prosecutors on Tuesday requested the judge overseeing ex-Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon's criminal contempt of Congress case to order that he begin his four-month prison sentence, after an appeals court last week upheld his conviction.

Prosecutors said there is no legal basis for Judge Carl Nichols to continue the stay on Bannon serving his sentence after the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals' conclusive ruling that rejected the basis for Bannon's appeal on all grounds.

"Consequently, there is no longer a 'substantial question of law that is likely to result in a reversal or an order for a new trial,'" prosecutors wrote in their filing Tuesday.

Clean him up, I mean? Jabba the Slob looks like he hasn’t bathed in years. Reminds me of the Peanuts character, Pigpen. You know, he always had that cloud of dirt/dust around him. Now combine that look with the viciousness of a medieval highwayman crossed with the zealotry of one of the Catholic Church’s Spanish Inquisitors - and the personal hygiene to match. 😂🤮

If he has dirt on somebody, let him spill it and put him in jail as he whines about the system. God, so sick of these traitors getting treated with kid gloves.

(supposedly to begin May 27, 2024). But Judge Merchan, who was also assigned to that case, is obviously busy with 45.

Literally JUST found out that Bannon's trial was postponed until September.

The trial for Donald Trump ally Steve Bannon over allegations he defrauded people who donated to a campaign to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border has been postponed by several months.

Bannon, a former White House senior adviser, has pleaded not guilty to several charges of money laundering, conspiracy and scheming to defraud in connection with $15 million in donations a "We Build the Wall" fundraising campaign received.

The trial at the New York Supreme Criminal Court was originally set to begin on May 27 by Judge Juan Merchan. However, the judge, who is also presiding over Trump's hush-money trial, which is expected to last several more weeks, has delayed the start of Bannon's proceedings until September, senior Courthouse News reporter Josh Russell first reported.

Bannon will next appear in court in connection to the fraud case on September 23.

So for sure haul him off to prison now and as soon as he gets out, off to trial again, hopefully with ANOTHER prison sentence, and this time it will be one that CANNOT be federally pardoned!

Well, it might reduce the size of the dust cloud he carries with him. I doubt it will improve him in any other way.
