Donald Trump Doubles Down On Plans To Dodge Next Presidential Debate

Source: Huff Post

Jul 23, 2024, 04:20 AM EDT

Former President Donald Trump continued his attacks against ABC News on Monday as he moved to shift his commitment to the next presidential debate now that Vice President Kamala Harris is the frontrunner to be the Democratic nominee.

Trump began laying the groundwork this weekend to dodge or change the rules of the second debate he’s agreed to, which is set to be held Sept. 10 and broadcast on ABC. The former president has been livid after President Joe Biden ended his bid for reelection on Sunday.

“ABC Fake News is such a joke, among the absolute WORST in the business,” he wrote on Truth Social. “They then tried to make ‘Sleepy’ look like a great President — he was the WORST, and Lyin’ Kamala into a competent person, which she is not.”

“ABC, the home of George Slopadopolus, is not worthy of holding a Debate, of which I hope there will be many!” he went on, using a demeaning name for host George Stephanopoulos.

He will be forced to. And now with vapid Vance as VP choice, Trump cannot decide not to run (with promise of being pardoned by strong VP, now Presidential candidate). Trump could have gone with Haley, made a deal for a pardon, then bowed out when/if he saw he was going to lose. Now Trump has to win at the top of the ticket.

Djt thought he 'won' a debate by steadily vomiting lies and inhumanity while pitted against an 80+ year old opponent who was ill, exhausted from overworking, medicated for a sore throat, spoke with a stutter and sometimes paused to logically assemble his responses...

Djt knows he'll shrink like a deflated blimp if young and vibrant Harris would 'prosecute' him in a debate with her clearly articulated and informed rebuttals. She would spotlight his racism, antipathy toward women, addiction to violence and aversion to truth.

But nowadays with these debates, nothing is set in stone. We saw that with the 2020 debates where 45 refused to go to the 2nd one that was going to be virtual due to his having COVID, because he wanted it "in person" so he could be a super-spreader.

And we might recall that the ORIGINAL Presidential debates organization was thrown under the bus!

The Commission on Presidential Debates faces an uncertain future after Biden and Trump bypassed it

By JONATHAN J. COOPER

PHOENIX (AP) — The nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates, which has planned presidential faceoffs in every election since 1988, has an uncertain future after President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump struck an agreement to meet on their own.

The Biden and Trump campaigns announced a deal Wednesday to meet for debates in June on CNN and September on ABC. Just a day earlier, Frank Fahrenkopf, chair of the Commission on Presidential Debates, had sounded optimistic that the candidates would eventually come around to accepting the commission’s debates.

“There’s no way you can force anyone to debate,” Fahrenkopf said in a virtual meeting of supporters of No Labels, which has continued as an advocacy group after it abandoned plans for a third-party presidential ticket. But he noted candidates have repeatedly toyed with skipping debates or finding alternatives before eventually showing up, though one was canceled in 2020 when Trump refused to appear virtually after he contracted COVID-19.

In reaching an agreement on their own, Biden and Trump sidelined a commission that aims to set neutral rules and provide a forum that’s simultaneously broadcast on all major networks. The commission suggested in a statement Wednesday that it would not immediately let go of its plans.

That Commission eventually cancelled their whole thing.

The thing he cannot abide (if he actually knew what that meant) is being mocked first and being mocked by a minority second and being mocked by a woman worst of all. Hillary did a pretty good job getting under his skin in the debates and in that campaign, but we need to turn it up to 11 now...

Harris should attack him without reserve, relentlessly and without a break for the next 100 days. These 100 days may be the most consequential in American history behind only FDR's first 100 days.

Make. Them. Count. Make. Him. Pay.

Call him a rapist, then quote the judge's own words for that conclusion - thus getting it into voters heads twice for the price of one - Kamala calls him a rapist AND the judicial system where he was found guilty is the corroborating witness...

Call him a convicted felon with 34 guilty verdicts.
Call him out for stiffing workers and contractors and local governments for his unpaid rally bills.
Call him out as philanderer and thrice married, soon to be thrice divorced scumbag.

Empty the kitchen sink on him and then fill up another sink with toilet refuse and dump THAT on him.
And at every possible point make sure he knows it is a woman of color making him look bad simply by calling him out and holding up a mirror to him.

Didn't Chump chicken out on one of the Republican debates back in 2016? Because he didn't like one of the moderators? Then his idiot followers say how tough and strong he is. Same thing here, he's "fighting the Liberal media" by refusing to go on "fake ABC" or whatever. His followers will yell "you go Donnie, such a bad ass" when all the while he's just a giant wuss.

It's ideal. The speeches and appearances are old hat to her and she has perfected them, and now they have to cover them. She "arrives on the scene" in perfect form.

I also used to be frustrated that she didn't have a heavily watched project in the administration, like for example Biden with shepherding Obamacare.

But NOW, there's nothing that they have to point to and say, "we hate the way she did that," or "this proves she's secretly a reptile person abusing children in a pizzeria basement."

and after that, she did a whole "reproductive rights" tour at colleges - Vice President Kamala Harris Launches Reproductive Freedoms Tour

Unfortunately when stuff that she was doing was posted about, it got yawns on DU.

confirmed that djt is a MORON. Others have said he's a useful idiot too, although I wouldn't trust djt for literally anything he does or say. He lies constantly out his ass and when is he ever speaking the truth? I want a real person, a down-to-earth person who doesn't lie all of the time and can tell people the truth, and nothing but the truth. I think Kamala is that person too, and djt isn't capable of recognizing this fact, and is instead, making 5th grade school attacks on her. Again, MORON.

May you get your ass stomped on and kicked around as you well deserve. You don't deserve a spot in our nation's history as you have soiled the WH and our nation with your foul mouth and also helped destroy this nation's credit w/ your unbridled spending that was not matched by cuts during your previous term in the WH.

We certainly don't need this again.
