Harris wins Democratic nomination, DNC announces

Source: Politico

Kamala Harris has won the votes of enough Democratic convention delegates to become the party’s presidential nominee, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison said Friday — cementing the vice president’s rise from running mate to standard bearer.

“I am so proud to confirm that Vice President Harris has earned more than a majority of votes from all convention delegates and will be the nominee of the Democratic Party following the close of voting” on Aug. 5, Harrison said on a video Friday.

Since the debate I thought this was the right thing to do but was shouted down. Turns out Dems CAN get their shit together and coalesce. This has re-energized the voting public like I suspected it would, but it exceeded even my wildest dreams. I figured the Dems would naturally create chaos and it's been quite the opposite.

And now Joe can give 100% to his day job, which is doing shit like freeing prisoners and calling for the corrupt SCOTUS to be reined in. He's building his legacy and I think he's still got some surprises for us.

This is such an exciting time.

Congratulations, future Madam President! Keep your foot on the gas and your eyes on the prize.

Does anyone else here keep hearing Helen Reddy singing "I am woman, hear me roar"?
