They couldn't even get the GOPers to vote for a rate increase over $1,000,000 with Norquist's blessing!

We're going over.

The House repubs have certainly become a circular firing squad lately, with the extreme teabaggers making life miserable for the more moderate repubs. What I'm wondering is who will become Speaker after Boner is ousted. Will it be a totally bat-shit crazy, or one of the moderate repubs?

I love reading others' observations here because it constantly gives me different insights on what is happening.

From my own point of view, Boehner's demonstrated weakness is more of the same, a fitting epitaph to the Tea Party Congress.

I had written them off for the first day of the new Congress, because I don't think they can keep up with the maneuvers and organizational ruses that the remaining career Republicans know about Opening Day.

But groundloop, you point out a most important thing, which is that if the doofuses simply unite in opposition to Boehner and everything his people try to do, they just might represent a plurality of opinion within the House GOP caucus.

They could drag Boehner down, or at least try and wind up making that day a farcical mess. Wouldn't that be fun to see?

like the damn playground at a school! Theyve been at recess ever since they got into office! They do not know how to write laws, only prevent ideas from becoming laws and blocking Obama at every turn.

They still have time after Christmas to pass a simple stopgap measure to delay everything which is what congress typically has done in situations like this.
