It's been obvious for decades, and it's also appalling that they get elected on the platform of not doing anything for the citizens of the USA.

Boehner's only move now is to put forward something which can get all the Democratic votes + enough Republican votes to pass.

Yeah, I went there. We need a real Republican party. Hopefully, after we have successfully removed the extremes, we can move forward with a real democracy.

It was all a big lie anyway. The Rethugs knew neither the Democratically-controlled Senate nor the White House would go along with it. It was simply there for the Rethugs to show their supporters that they were trying to do something constructive (though they weren't really). And now they can't even point to a Republican plan - because they couldn't agree to one.

Time to retire the Rethuglican Party to the dustbin of history (along with the Whigs and the Know Nothings).

They are trying to govern off of talking points written on the back of a napkin safe in the cocoon of Fox News. In this alternate universe, their willingness to sit on their ass, and demand that the President clean their shit up is awesome strategy and the people are totally behind them.

Think Romney being surprised that he got his ass kicked.

One of the other teacher who had an ethics class showed that during his class. I was thinking to myself, gee what movie could I show so I don't have to work for a couple of days. In one of my classes I did show Inside Job with English subtitles. I had to warn them ahead of time about the people in the film talking about prostitution and drugs use though.

Pelosi is going to have to keep all her folks in line, and Boehner is going to have to deliver enough sane Reps to get a majority.

There will probably be a Gang of X consisting of conservative Dems and sane Reps who will write a house bill of some sort.

I hope that the two of them will keep in touch with each other, Reid and Obama over the Christmas break.

It's going to be hairy.

Republicans will be pleased. Republicans don't like government anyway.

President Obama must prepare.
It's inevitable the Republicans will march us over the raising the debt ceiling cliff.

Remember Mr. President. You can't negotiate with terrorists.
They will only demand more the next time.

Dems actually want to govern. Which means to get anything done Dems end up giving up somethings. Or, nothing happens, which would (again) be fine with the GOP).

In the meantime, we must play defense. We must defend our ground.

We must stop losing ground with nothing in return.

The Republicans will be more than happy to wreck Obamacare, wreck Social Security, wreck Medicare, wreck Medicaid.

They won't give an inch regarding raising taxes on the top 1%.
They won't let us pass meaningful reforms to curb corporate excesses, to pass meaningful Wall Street Reforms, to pass meaningful climate legislation, to pass meaningful gun control legislation.
They won't compromise their interests.

It takes two to negotiate.

When the other side won't compromise, and you already compromised a lot, you have to stop.

Do you really believe the middle class wins when the Democrats capitulate to the Republicans,
when the Republicans get 99%, even 100% their way, and the Republicans are still not satisfied?
