All the time and money spent on "homeland security," and we're in constant danger from being blown away by our own neighbors.

and confiscating people's nail clippers sure made our country "safe". Americans can really be foolish and shortsighted.

Oh, and let's not forget our shampoo had to be in a 3 oz. container or else we couldn't fly. Hell, I had my iced mocha confiscated one time before I got on the plane. There are a lot of deaths in this country due to iced mochas.

Seriously, I haven't flown in a few years (can't afford it and don't enjoy it any more), but the last time I did I was really snarky. I find that as an older woman now I can get away with it more than when I was younger. I'm also passive/aggressive sometimes but pretend I'm just having a senior moment. Oh, my, I had no idea I couldn't bring my drink on the plane (yes, I did). Oh, dear, I just paid $4 for this and I'm not going to throw it out. I live on a fixed income and $4 is a lot for me. Well, you get my drift.

It's like the old spoof from "Airplane" where the guards are frisking the old ladies and meanwhile the terrorists are walking right through the gate.

It seems the armed troopers who stopped this one barely escaped with their lives. And they weren't surprised at the scene.

. . . before the 2nd works the way they say it should? Next, I think the NRA will call for universal mandatory gun ownership.

A poster on GunBroker.com of all places is saying that he knew the shooter personally and that he was losing it over the impending gun ban. Even said he is afraid that this information will get out to the "loony lefty's." Even if what this poster is saying is untrue the mentality on that board in unbelievable and gives you an idea of the gun fetish certain people have.

That does seem to be the NRA philosophy... and from the lips of one of Hitler's generals, no less.

Seems all the governors are proposing arming teachers and front office ladies at the schools. What a nut. So sorry for the victims and their families.
