Ashley Judd Trails Mitch McConnell By 4 Points In Senator's Internal Poll

Source: The Huffington Post

An internal poll from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's campaign shows him leading actress Ashley Judd by 4 points in a potential matchup for the Republican's Kentucky Senate seat.

The poll, by Republican firm Voter/Consumer Research, demonstrates that McConnell's camp is taking the possible challenge seriously. While the details were not publicly released, a memo of the results was provided to outlets including Politico and The Washington Post.

Its release comes weeks after McConnell's campaign mocked a survey by the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling that found the same 4-point margin.

McConnell's campaign manager, Jesse Benton, had panned PPP's results, saying, "It speaks volumes that even a liberal Democrat pollster with an agenda to make Mitch McConnell look bad still can't find an opponent who can lead him in Kentucky."

McTurtle's own numbers match PPP's from earlier this month.
She hasn't even announced and Ms. Judd already has the race down to low single digits in two polls.

While the PPP poll gave McConnell an abysmal 37 percent approval rating, the Voter/Consumer Research survey showed him with a much healthier 51 percent approval rating. It also suggests that some of Judd's positions could make her highly vulnerable. McConnell's lead jumped to 20 points after voters were read some of her positions, according to Politico

Especially if she managed to win a tough district, she'd have the credibility to try for a Senate run in a few years. However, right now, I think she'd be shredded to pieces given what we know of her politics.

so a Democrat can win but as much as I LOVE Ashley Judd, she can't without changing a lot of her positions on things like MTR which I hope she never does

When was the last time you ever heard Mitch McConnell mention the state of KY?? It's time for Mitch to go. Ashley loves her home state of Kentucky. And her home state loves her. I hope like Hell she runs. If she's only 4 points behind him in the polls and she hasn't even given any indication that she will run yet, I say that's pretty good odds. And KY knows "odds." We have got to turn these red states to periwinkle!
Go Ashley!

They could have a dialog while ignoring Scott Brown...or whomever is the GOPig candidate, insult the hell out of the Republicans and entertain the audience.

Kevin Smith could be the campaign director.

It would be better than listening to Scott Brown wank about what a fu@king patriot he is.
