US gun advocates want Morgan deported
2012-12-23 22:35
Washington - -US gun rights advocates have signed a White House petition calling for British CNN host Piers Morgan to be deported for allegedly attacking the Second Amendment rights of ordinary Americans.
The outspoken former British tabloid editor has launched something of a personal crusade for greater gun control measures in the wake of the 14 December massacre at Sandy Hook elementary in Newtown, Connecticut.
On Tuesday, Morgan held an especially contentious interview with executive director of Gun Owners of America Larry Pratt, appearing to become incensed and incredulous when Pratt suggested more, not fewer, weapons as the solution.
"You're an unbelievably stupid man, aren't you?" Morgan said at one point during the heated debate. "You have absolutely no coherent argument. You don't actually give a damn about the gun murder rate in America."

(30,058 posts)The bigger the hat and belt buckle the lower the IQ, and for the ones with their name on the back is so they will know their name when they get their head out of their a$$. Makes me wonder, did Rick Perry have OOPS on his belt. I live in Texas and we have many more wonderful people here than Larry Pratt.

(30,058 posts)Piers Morgan was exercising the first amendment and they want to keep the second amendment, they are stupid. By the way I am exercising my amendment rights also.

In this case, he can continue his festering rants from his home nation just fine. No-one here will ever stop him from speaking out.

(117 posts)The Second Amendment does say that we have a right to bear arms by a TRAINED MILITIA. And it was written when there were no weapons that were capable of obilerating people in seconds. But we do have a First Amendment that allows for freedom of speech so Piers Morgan was and is within his rights for his opinion.
What a crying shame that these fools screaming that their rights are being trounced on can't be deported to some place (Like the Cayman Islands, for example) where they can kill one another for the sport of it. Shoot-out at the OK Corral!

(50,562 posts)The volunteers we had in the days of the Founding Fathers were the kind who worked for no money, not the kind who apply for jobs with the Army and get hired like we have now.
The reason we had a Volunteer Army is the country was so broke it couldn't have paid soldiers or bought them equipment if it wanted to. If you wanted to be in an artillery unit, you had to buy your own cannon.
So obviously if a shitload of teabaggers armed with whatever in hell they want to bring in constitute the well-regulated militia of the Second Amendment, teabaggers should be able to buy their own 155-mm howitzers. (Which should be entertaining to watch--it takes a dozen men to fire one of those.)

(403 posts)Deport Piers Morgan!
The guy is a talentless hack, and he's been personally involved in some of the worst British press spying scandals.
The only problem with deporting Piers Morgan is that the British people probably won't take him back.

(17,986 posts)...was incorrect? Regardless of what he's done in the past, he's right on the money with this one. If anyone needs to be deported, it's the gun toting, compensators, if only to protect the American gene pool.

People are starting to think of the gun nuts as being like the people calling for secession - full of sound and fury signifying nothing. Like the secession petition, these things are meaningless
I don't believe the gun nuts have any self awareness about how asinine and ridiculous their excuses and absolutism sound to the average person, which includes responsible gun owners.

(6,113 posts)There. I said it. Wayne LaPierre and everyone who buys his proto-eliminationist bullshit needs to be profiled as a potential domestic terrorist. That sounds far more sane than LaPierre's call for a de facto army in our schools.
