The Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA) union reached a deal with hospital employers in the Twin Cities Thursday, according to a press release.
The news comes more than a week after union members voted to strike at M Health Fairview, Essentia Health, Allina Health, Childrens Hospitals, North Memorial and Aspirus St. Lukes.
MNA shared in a press release Thursday that the contract includes tools to address workplace violence, a 3% raise in the first year, 4% in the second and 3% in the third.
Nurses have always said this fight isnt just about contracts, its about safe care, said MNA President Chris Rubesch in the press release. We heard from our members loud and clear: staffing levels were the number one priority in these negotiations, for the first time ahead of wages and it will continue to be a principal concern as we move forward caring for our patients in the future.
