July 4 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said he had signed letters to 12 countries outlining the various tariff levels they would face on goods they export to the United States, with the "take it or leave it" offers to be sent out on Monday.
Trump, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One as he traveled to New Jersey, declined to name the countries involved, saying that would be made public on Monday.
Trump had earlier on Thursday told reporters that he expected a first batch of letters to go out on Friday, a national holiday in the United States, though the date has now shifted.
In a global trade war that has upended financial markets and set off a scramble among policymakers to guard their economies, Trump in April announced a 10% base tariff rate and additional amounts for most countries, some ranging as high as 50%. However, all but the 10% base rate were subsequently suspended for 90 days to allow more time for negotiations to secure deals.

(12,086 posts)there's still additional on steel, aluminum and autos.
And China is tariffed more than 10% and I don't think they are the only one that are hit with additional for supposedly their role in the fentanyl trade.
even the article contradicts itself about current tariff rates:

(156,503 posts)I.e., the original E.O. was signed April 2 for 10% overall tariff, which was then amended April 5 for China, and then had an anticipated "effective date" of higher tariffs (plus reciprocal) for April 9, which was "postponed" until next week.
So the "pause" was on the reciprocal piece.
Story by Dean Seal 2mo
President Trump said he has authorized a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs for all trading partners except China, sparking a broad-based market rally due to the temporary reprieve from the trade war.
The president said Wednesday afternoon on his Truth Social platform that reciprocal tariffs will also be lowered to 10%, effective immediately. That wont be the case for China, which now faces a 125% tariff, Trump said.
Markets surged quickly after the announcement was made. The S&P 500 jumped 7.2%, Dow Industrials were up 6.1% and the Nasdaq climbed 9.2%.
Trump said his decision to pause the tariffs was based on the fact that more than 75 countries have engaged with representatives of his administration to open negotiations regarding trade, trade barriers, tariffs, currency manipulation and other matters. He said that those companies also had not retaliated to earlier tariffs that Trump had threatened.

(had found a msn version of the original paywalled WSJ article)
We know that AFTER that initial "freeze", there were "deals" and other sets of mixed tariffs that were imposed or removed "by proclamation" (e.g., China was originally assessed up to 145% tariff and then that was dropped, Canada had a new steel/aluminum one imposed and then dropped, etc), leading up to this latest July 9th deadline.

(12,086 posts)One has to scroll down quite aways on that one.
Sure I'm well aware that these things keep oscillating. I'd have to do more digging in my plentiful notes where I try to keep track and on the web and all that, but I just don't have the time. I've spent all day yesterday and today and day before truth-checking the ADP report, then the BLS payroll jobs report, and then Social Security taxation on multiple threads each (every article is inconsistent with the others, but nobody gives a rats ass what the actual situation is, preferring instead to make ideological declarations), and meanwhile the piles of papers on the floor up to my ankles isn't getting taken care of, so I simply cannot get into where tariffs are at this exact moment on which countries from which old articles. I maintain that our tariffs on China at the moment are more than 10%. Call it a linkless assertion of opinion as fact, whatever.

(156,503 posts)are his TruthSocial "proclamations" that "make adjustments" in an erratic fashion.
There are a bunch of "tariff trackers" out there like -

and

And I get it about the deep dive researching. I have been down the rabbit hole multiple times today and am STILL trying to catch up!
