George Bush Sr in 'good spirits' as spokesman signals improving health

Source: guardian

Former president George Bush Sr is in "good spirits" amid signs of recovering health, even singing with doctors and nurses treating him at a Houston hospital, his spokesman said on Friday.

The 88-year-old was admitted to the Methodist hospital's intensive care unit on Sunday, after a series of setbacks including a persistent fever.

But in the latest update on his condition, the president's spokesman Jim McGrath said Bush "continues to improve" although he remains in intensive care.

"The president is alert and, as always, in good spirits – and his exchanges with doctors and nurses now include singing," McGrath said.

This may be surprising to you, but "I don't care" and "nobody cares" aren't synonymous. (nt) Posteritatis Dec 2012 #7

I won't care anymore about it when poppy buys the farm than I do when I swat a fly. He IS a criminal, but I'm completely indifferent to his well-being. Oh, while I'm thinking about it, his wife, Barbara, is a huge asshole too.

As President Bush battled criticism over the response to Hurricane Katrina, his mother declared it a success for evacuees who "were underprivileged anyway," saying on Monday that many of the poor people she had seen while touring a Houston relocation site were faring better than before the storm hit.

he's put off meeting Satan face to face for just a while longer. Now that he has another chance, I wonder if he'll finally repent and make a public confession of all his crimes.

My aunt is convinced that his "persistant fever" is actually the fires of hell beginning to lap at his soul (she said this doing her best imitation of Jim Ward imitating Pat Robertson - not bad for a 90 year old woman).
