Judge Diane Goodstein's Home Burns to Ground After Ruling Against Trump

Source: Newsweek

Published Oct 06, 2025 at 03:21 AM EDT updated Oct 06, 2025 at 05:11 AM EDT

The home of a South Carolina judge was destroyed after it went up in flames on Saturday.

A fire engulfed the home of Judge Diane Goodstein, who serves on the state Circuit Court, and led to three people being hospitalized with injuries, including her husband, per The Post and Courier. The cause of the fire is not immediately known, and the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) said it is investigating the incident. Newsweek contacted SLED via email on Monday outside regular working hours.

Why It Matters

The fire comes weeks after Goodstein issued a ruling against the Trump administration.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the blaze, and there is currently no evidence to suggest it was an act of arson. Still, it has sparked conversation about online hostility toward members of the judiciary who rule against Trump and his allies.

If this was a political attack, I sincerely hope the media will treat it like they treated the Kirk killing. Blow it up and decry the political motivations. Cancel anyone that celebrates it online or on air. Flags lowered. Legislation proposed. Etc. Etc.

Despite there not being deaths, I think this direct attack on a judge is more dangerous than the killing of one non-affiliated speaker.

But that's just my opinion.

Those public servants on Capitol Hill who swore an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution need to protect our country from its domestic enemies who are breaking the law while their Republican enablers in congress look the other way. We need the same from our military who are charged with protecting our country from domestic enemies who want to harm U.S. citizens and whose presidency is concerned not with making the country better, but destroying it.

Journalists need to stop interviewing/covering the big imposter, which would take the worry out of stepping on his (probably webbed) toes. We need help from the media. There must be trails & trails of paths to follow for all the wrongdoing to be exposed.

The billionaire class are building underground fortresses. We need to expose every one of them who are ruling behind the scenes.

In the clip of the house burning one can easily see the roof is still attached, plus the
walls would still be there holding the roof up. Could have been a gas leak, but I'm
betting against that scenario.

Even if it is proven arson........regretfully that is the easy part of the job for the fire investigators, the really really really hard part is putting a person with the act.............

................With 75 million Trumphumpers, egged on by Trump and his CABAL, The Republicans have the biggest group of "rogue", potentially corrupted vigilantes ever assembled.....
(Phony cops knocking on the home doors of Dem Politcians.......etc etc) Obviously they have prepared, with the Military brought to Washington DC to protect their government..............

1. A federal judged ruled to protect personal voting rights

2. Her house burned down.

When I see a headline like this, what am I to think? I know what I do think, and it's going to be hard to change my mind.
