The United States Coast Guard is deploying more resources to the U.S. southern border on the Rio Grande River, according to the agency.

The surge operation, known as "Operation River Wall," will add more boats on a 260-mile stretch of the river in southeastern Texas that makes up part of the U.S.-Mexico border to ensure operational control of the border, according to USCG.

"U.S. Coast Guard is the best in the world at tactical boat operations and maritime interdiction at sea, along our coasts, and in riverine environments," said Adm. Kevin E. Lunday, acting commandant of the Coast Guard.

"Through Operation River Wall, the Coast Guard is controlling the U.S. southern border along the Rio Grande River in eastern Texas."

monitor gun traffic going the other direction. Most of their military grade weapons come from several gun stores in Texas. They are illegal to purchase or own in Mexico.
Mexico needs to build a wall.

Actually "most" of their civilian grade weapons come from the US, most of their military grade weapons are stolen from the Mexican military/Police.

Although even if they got zero US weapons it wouldn't slow down their acquisition of weapons as they already have worldwide smuggling routes.
If you can smuggle tons of drugs firearms aren't any harder.

Coast Guard Press Release

“U.S. Coast Guard is the best in the world at tactical boat operations and maritime interdiction at sea, along our coasts, and in riverine environments,” said Adm. Kevin E. Lunday, Acting Commandant of the Coast Guard. “Through Operation River Wall, the Coast Guard is controlling the U.S. southern border along the Rio Grande River in eastern Texas.”

As part of this mobilization, the Coast Guard is deploying additional response boats, shallow watercraft, command and control assets, and tactical teams in support of national security objectives. This represents an unprecedented commitment of Coast Guard personnel and resources to the Rio Grande region.

The Coast Guard is leading operations, working with U.S. Border Patrol and the Department of War under U.S. Northern Command, to control, secure, and defend the U.S. border along the Rio Grande River in Cameron and Hidalgo counties in eastern Texas, extending to the sea.
