U.S. Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) mocked Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem by proposing a new name for GOP-led legislation targeting immigrants who attack dogs.

During a House committee meeting on Tuesday, Goldman proposed a name change for GOP legislation that aims to deport immigrants who have attacked dogs. He suggested changing the name of the bill to the “The Kristi Noem Canine Relief Act,” referring to Noem’s admission that she shot and killed her dog, Cricket.

Laughter from other people could be heard as he introduced the motion to the committee.

“I really want to know how, if at all, it would apply to Cabinet members who have admitted that they have shot and killed a dog. Only at the ports of entry? Or is this just broadly against any assault on dogs? Because my understanding, if I’m reading the bill, is that this would apply to someone who kills a dog,” Goldman said.

Circumstances differ in most of these cases that are reported. "In the line of duty" isn't the reason in most of them. Just sayin'.
