Trump to Mamdani on being a fascist: 'You can just say yes'

President Trump told New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani that he could “just say yes” when Mamdani was asked if he had affirmed he believed the president is a fascist.

“He asked about your comment calling President Trump a fascist and your answer was, ‘Both President Trump and I have been clear about our positions and our views.’ Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?” a reporter asked Mamdani.

Mamdani began to answer “I’ve spoken about,” but Trump interrupted and turned to him smiling, saying “That’s OK, you can just say yes.”

“OK, all right,” Mamdani said.
