Putin says Russia will achieve its Ukraine aims by force if Kyiv doesn't want peace

Source: NBC News/Reuters

Dec. 28, 2025, 2:47 AM EST / Source: Reuters

MOSCOW — Russian President Vladimir Putin said Ukraine was in no hurry for peace and if it did not want to resolve their conflict peacefully, Moscow would accomplish all its goals by force.

Putin's remarks on Saturday, carried by state news agency TASS, followed a vast Russian drone and missile attack that prompted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to say Russia was demonstrating its wish to continue the war while Kyiv wanted peace.

Zelenskyy is to meet U.S. President Donald Trump in Florida on Sunday to seek a resolution to the war Putin launched nearly four years ago with a full-scale invasion of Russia's smaller neighbour.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Putin's remarks.

So, of course. Reality is what you get the media and rhetorical environment to say it is--it's entirely socially, if not socialistically, constructed.

Sometimes I wonder if his goal isn't to "engineer" the "human soul" to make it ready for what he had when he grew up, and get that ol' Marxist-Leninist "course of history" back "on track" in Russia: First socialism, and then the withering away of the state to produce communism. After all, one bit complaint in late-stage socialism was that it had to fail because the preconditions, the transition from capitalism, hadn't actually occurred in socialist Russia. In 1918 much of Russia was properly quasi-feudal, where all the efforts to 'liberate' the serfs hadn't really changed much on the ground: they had the same culture, the same attitudes, and very often little improved economic conditions (except to the extent they'd become urban 'proletariat').

5. Putin, Trump's idol, is a monster. He's lost 1.2 million soldiers so far, but doesn't care about them.

Like Trump, none of his offspring serve in the military.

While Ukraine targets Russia’s logistics and its war funding oil infrastructure, Putin targets Ukrainian apartment buildings.

Putin won’t give up. It’s all about his legacy, recreating the Russian Empire. The war will continue until the oligarchs throw him out a window.

…. happen now? He invaded Donbas with help of an American traitor, Michael Flynn,
in 2014 annexed Crimea and his 2022 full scale invasion of the nation of Ukraine hasn’t
been successful. The war in Ukraine will end with one bullet and that will be one Putin’s
brain or a drone blast or his home or car exploding.

Trump’s siding with Russia over Ukraine has been and still is shameful.

12. Putin is reaching his last straw

Ukraine is literally kicking his ass, destroying his military soldiers, his military planes and vehicles, etc etc etc

Ukraine just took years building a new sarcophagus, at great expense to cover the Chernobyl reactor, which is still melting down. Putin decided to launch a drone into it, punching a big hole in the sarcophagus, causing it to leak radiation once again......
It will cost a ton of money to repair the hole and damage to the interior.........as well as exposing the workers to outrageous amounts of Radiation.
I can only imagine, the closer Putin gets to losing, he will enable drones/rockets to attack Ukraine's other Nuclear Power plants.
AND, begin the use of Tactical Smaller Nuclear Weapons focused on certain areas of Ukraine, making those areas un-inhabitable for a thousand years or more.......

The thing that keeps me up at night is the thought of the world's nuclear arsenals, enough to destroy life on planet Earth a thousand times over, in the hands of RAGING NARCISSISTIC, SADISTIC PSYCHOPATHS THROUGH OUT THE WORLD........
North Korea, China, Russia, Israel, United States, etc etc etc.
Any of which, could launch missiles as an "ILL SHOW YOU.....IF I GO, YOU ALL WILL GO"

13. Putin Speaks With Trump Ahead of Zelensky Meeting in Florida to, receive, I guess, his marching orders.

President Trump said he spoke by phone with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia on Sunday, ahead of his meeting in the afternoon with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine at Mar-a-Lago, where they will discuss a revised 20-point peace plan aimed at ending the war with Russia. Mr. Zelensky has acknowledged two major sticking points: the fate of the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine and control of a nuclear power plant occupied by Russia.
