President Donald Trump said Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado is coming to the United States "next week sometime" in a sit-down interview on the Fox News show "Hannity" that aired on Jan. 8.
The show's host Sean Hannity asked Trump if he would meet Machado and accept Machado's 2025 Nobel Peace Prize if she gave it to him.
"I understand she's coming in next week sometime and I look forward to saying hello to her and I've heard that she wants to do that. That would be a great honor," Trump said.
A meeting would be Trump's first with Machado, who said earlier this week that she hadn't spoken to the U.S. leader since she won the Nobel Peace Prize in October. USA TODAY has reached out to the White House for information on the meeting.

And then next week, it'll be "in 2 weeks".

(60,787 posts)Trump has invaded her country and kidnapped the person who refused to concede an election. However, he has backed the VP and, to this point, has not called for elections. In addition, there are reports that the oppression by the regime has increased. Not to mention attempting to steal their resources.
She has something he dearly wants, even though if she were to "give" it to him, it is not the same as being awarded it. It reminds me of him accepting someone's earned purple heart after he said he wanted one. Her motivation would probably be that she may think she could gain something to make life in Venezuela better. If so, someone needs to explain how he throughout his life never honored his promises and commitments to others.
Not to mention, even if she gives him her Nobel prize, all he gets is a decoration. The honor is still hers. She is the official winner. Her name is there for history. He, in fact, will be seen as twisting arms of others to get peace prizes. After all, who would have thought a soccer organization would award a peace prize.
